One fish, two fish, give a dog a bone. We're back at it with Episode 38 and Reggie & Cane get a little nostalgic and talk about some of their favorite childhood books. Gives us Goosebumps just thinking about it. If you know you know.

The episode starts off with a lot of talk about Tyler the Creator's newest album. Five mics certified. Could this be a classic? Either way, the Synonymous crew is loving the album. What do y'all think?

This week we SMACKDOWN snitches, because...you already know. On the other end of that, Cane HIGH FIVES Reggie, as Reggie will be playing in the TBT Tournament, July 17th. Make sure to keep an eye out for that.

Changing gears to sports, Reggie & Cane talk a little flag football, the NBA playoffs, and unfortunately, some of the injuries that will likely impact the outcome.

Episode 36 starts out with Cane and Reggie swapping drunk stories. Gin, tequila, malt liquor, oh my!  Which somehow leads us back to the debate of whether or not Reggie lost the 75 HARD bet and has to shave. The fellas then get down to some real important topics: childhood games, ninja warrior, haunted houses, and the one major difference between black and white ppl’s cookouts.

This brings up a discussion about the theory that black men who are clean shaven by choice, typically prefer white women. What do y'all think?

The NBA Playoffs are the highlight of the sports discussion. Find out who Reggie & Cane think will go all the way. And while on the subject of the NBA, they talk about players being "divas". Is the NBA becoming soft? And how is this synonymous with the whole, "Hip Hop is Dead" era? 

Reggie & Cane talk nutrition, specifically about the struggles of sticking to a healthy diet while being athletes at VMI.

Prior to VMI, Reggie talks about his high school basketball career and how he got recruited late.

On Episode 34, we have special guest, artist and producer, first male from North Stafford High School to make All-State and Honors Choir in the same year, Tyler Donavan aka The Cardigan Connoisseur (nickname dubbed by Cane). Reggie & Cane dive into Tyler's origin story and how he got into music. Coming from a musical background thanks to his parents (still looking for that pic of his mom and Bill Clinton playing the saxophone), you could say he was born into the art. The three swap funny stories about interactions they've had with celebrities (SPOILER ALERT: Tyler has a Raven Simone story) and share their wishlist of producers they'd like to work with. A little bit (okay, maybe a lot) of nerding out on music, some discussion about Tyler's "Breathe" and "Inhale" EP's, and a look into his creative process. 3 hours of good conversation was still not complete without the infamous "Synonymous Question", and wrapping up the episode with Tyler gracing us with some BARS. Reggie & Cane are back this week with a new soundboard (that Reggie, much like a child, cannot resist touching) and a couple new segments! First up, "Plays and Bars of the Week" which speaks for itself and then we have "Smackdowns and High Fives". Each week Reggie & Cane will "smackdown" something or something ridiculous someone did and also shoutout something or someone that deserves a big fat high five. Kudos to you, man (or woman or thing).

Reggie tries to tap into the feelings Cane gets from his love of music. It gets a little touchy for Cane and we're pretty sure we see him shed a single tear, so Cane quickly changes the subject to movies and shows they're currently watching or have recently watched. Man, that almost turned into an episode of Ricki Lake.

Reggie finally comes clean and admits that he kinda hated Cane and another one of their roommates back in college for being "too loud" while Reggie tried to sleep. Ouch. Reggie really knows how to make a grown man cry. Thankfully the two agreed that those "inconsiderate" actions is what made Reggie a better basketball player in the end. Phew! The band is gonna make it.

It's BACON DAY on Episode 32 of Synonymous Podcast. Finally, a food titled episode, and given how much Reggie & Cane talk about food, it was inevitable. We talk Reggie's job at the mess hall at VMI, omelets, general tso's, cup of noodles, and cheesesteaks vs. steak & cheese's. Speaking of, how do you take your steak & cheese? Apologies to any of our Philly listeners, we call it steak & cheese down "south".

With Cane's World Emcee Battle coming up this Sunday, the two reminisce on the last time Reggie saw Cane perform at The Dark Room, which brings up the story of when Reggie flew to Chicago on a whim to attend Kanye's Sunday Service. That sends Reggie down a rabbit hole of shows and concerts he's been to.

There's 2021 NFL Draft talk which brings up the NBA Draft where Reggie shares his personal experience and how he performed at the pre-draft camp. Who knew how important it would be to have big hands in the NBA? You won't find any Burger King tiny hands in the league, that's for sure.

They couldn't go without talking about one of the most eventful UFC cards in a while. Shattered legs, surprise knockouts, and bum knees, oh my.

Sounds like Cane and Reggie are still going strong on their 75 Hard Challenge, and after further review Reggie DID NOT cheat. The highlight of Cane's week clearly was his new Pit Boss grill, as he proceeded to give a free testimonial infomercial for the brand. This week was also 4/20. I don't know about y'all but when I think 4/20 I think Snoop Dogg. Cane shares a story about the time he ALMOST smoked with Snoop Dogg in Austin, Texas at SXSW. Cane and Reggie then go on to swap some of their wildest weed stories.

Switching gears to a more serious topic Cane and Reggie end their discussion with the Chauvin trial, and social issues surrounding racial injustice.

On this week's episode, we check in on Reggie and Cane's 75 Hard progress and adherence. Cane believes Reggie may have cheated. Will Reggie be beardless in next week's episode? TBD. If he does, he might have to Bigen it on for the foreseeable future. One thing we know he hasn't cheated on is his diet, because Reggie had the Synonymous studio smelling like Chitlin's left outside on a hot July day. Yikes. Speaking of Chitlin's, Reggie says that's the most disrespectful food you can heat up in an office. Don't be that disrespectful office mate.

And while we're on the subject of food (again), let's talk about the best Reese's remix: Reese's with peanuts, Reese's Pieces, or Pretzels? Reggie, the candy bar connoisseur weighs in.

On to sports, we talk about Luka's amazing shot, and find out if Cane, aka "Big Country" has ever hit a winning shot. He's gonna need that winning energy if he ever goes up against a girl Reggie thinks can beat Cane in a 1-on-1. Can Cane beat a girl? Also TBD.

Episode 29 of Synonymous Podcast with Reggie Williams and Cane.

The fellas are back for Episode 28 with quick special appearances from DMX and Reggie Rain. Reggie and Cane talk some Kung-Fu and take a walk down memory lane and reminisce about their favorite superhero shows and cartoons growing up. Were you team X-Men or team Power Rangers?

This week's hot topic is Lil Nas X and the controversial release of his "Satan shoes".  Is he really a devil worshipper, is it all a publicity stunt, or can we argue that this is art? Whatever it is, Lil Nas X is surely laughing all the way to the bank with a Gin and Satonic in hand, selling his shoes for a whopping $1,018 per pair. Holy sh*t.

Speaking of shoes, typically in the NCAA Tournament, it's GOTTA BE THE SHOES. Unfortunately, neither Reggie nor Cane were impressed with player's shoes this year, which leads them down a rabbit hole of their favorite shoes, which obviously include Jordan's, Kobe's, and KD's. Not included on the list are Crocs and Timbs which Reggie and Cane have both spotted dudes hoopin' in. Not a joke.

Cane and Reggie go on to make NCAA Championship predictions, which typically ends in a bet, which Cane is still 0-? on and has yet to follow through with the consequences. NCAA bet TBD. Aside from who is gonna win the trophy, who wins best sports celebration? Ice water in my veins. Dame Time. Dirty Bird. Who takes the cake?

Finally, Cane plugs his band, Got My Own Sound's latest album, Moonshine Music (#1 Jazz Album on iTunes), which he is featured on not once, but twice. Check out this episode, as well as the new album on all streaming platforms. Until next week.
