God teaches His servant through disappointments in his Christian life. During these times, God exposes you to what you truly love and believe. Your disappointments reveal what you rest in, find satisfaction and security in, and where your ultimate treasure lies. However, you can be rest assured that His provision is loving. A pastor who believes that God is sovereign over all things will lead his people to be a death-defying missional people. Our sovereign God holds the destiny of the world in the palm of His hand. Therefore, His shepherds should lead their people to pray confidently, give sacrificially, go intentionally, and die willingly for the spread of the gospel message to those who have never heard.

A pastor is not exempt from temptation. It seems they are especially tempted to lose heart in the midst of Christian ministry. Although Paul endured great hardships and persecutions, he calls all pastors to not lose heart. Paul teaches pastors that the ability to endure must involve an informed resolve to recall the call of ministry and the context of ministry while maintaining an eternal perspective.

The only way for the message of the gospel to be understood and believed is if it is articulated. In Romans 10 Paul teaches that the word that leads to faith has been brought near. This Gospel word is powerful enough that all people everywhere can hear and believe the truth. Articulating the Gospel is essentially and centrally verbal for people to become Christ followers.

Throughout redemptive history God has brought about a plan to bring glory to Himself through a particular people. Today, this occurs through the church. However, is it a problem if not all members of your local church are born again believers? Many churches today have false converts due to a lack of biblical knowledge regarding teachers, doctrine, and godly living.
