God’s design of men and women need to viewed by the church as a spiritual warfare issue. The biblical design of manhood and womanhood is constantly being challenged by the culture surrounding us. The perfect example of Jesus and the instruction of the New Testament teach us that as Christian’s we ought to have a crucified vision of our roles as men and women.

Drawing deeply upon the imagery of the Old Testament, RC Sproul richly meditates on the implications of what Jesus suffered on the cross and what he saved us from. Bearing the weight of the curse is either placed upon individuals or freely upon the Holy One who took it from us. Jesus became cursed, so that could be counted righteous in Him.

Ligon Duncan teaches a guide to the early church Fathers’ often perplexing views on the gospel. The early church Father’s were best in criticizing disputed areas of doctrine. Heresy served the Church to give the Bible’s perspective. One should respectively and carefully read the Father’s under the authority and lens of Scripture.

Pastors should preach faithfully and then rest contentedly well at night. Why? Because Jesus teaches us that it is God’s Word that does the work. Christians may be the means, but not the way, similar to sowing and reaping. The essential elements of resting content include: humility, obedience, diligence, and confidence.
