What comes to mind when you consider something that is home grown? Characteristics such as authentic, original, intentional, or fresh. Good things are home grown and impossible to mass produce. There is something missing when the focus and intentionality that only comes through proximity is lost. That's what sets something home grown apart! God's spiritual epicenter was always designed to be the home. A home is more than a house with a white picket fence and 2.5 kids. A home is represented by the relational spheres that surround us and the people therein. There's no one-size-fits all approach. Home in all its mess and majesty is where life happens. Faith is most effective when it's home grown.

While Abel brought his best offering to God in faith, even his right choices could not bridge the gap of human sin. True approval from God isn't based on our performance, but on the superior, spilled blood of Jesus, who serves as the mediator of a new covenant. When we stay humble at the foot of the cross and yield to the Holy Spirit, worship moves beyond an event and begins to rule over sin in our daily lives and homes.
