Today we are going to talk about the difference between humility and humiliation. They are closely related but not the same thing. What can we learn from humiliation? We'll check out some words from Jesus today as well. Thanks for listening!
Our music on the podcast is from John Nugent. John is a Chicagoland area musician who has been a real blessing to Tabor Church.

Today we are starting a conversation on humility. It has been almost two weeks since I posted last. I have been spending more time listening and learning. Now I want to get back to some devotional learning. Humility is not usually the goal for people in our culture and so it means that we need to spend time looking at it. Hope you enjoy the conversation.

Today I reference a news story about a pastor being removed from his church because he dared to say "Black Lives Matter." I believe this pastor was trying to align his people with the heart of God and they rejected him for that. What is God's heart? We are going to do a quick study of that today.

Today I give thanks for each of you. Each time I remember you, I give thanks. After a birthday it is easy to be thankful and grateful. When the world is an uncertain place we have to be even more willing to choose gratefulness over negativity. Listen to the episode today and be challenged.

Today, June 22nd, is my birthday. I have decided to share with you two things that I am continuing to learn and focus on. I love opportunities to think about and focus on opportunities for growth. If I am not growing, I'm dying. Take a listen to the episode today.

Today I have a conversation with my friend, Pastor Jeff Howell. Pastor Howell is a pastor on the Southside of Chicago and has a heart for the City of Chicago. I ask Jeff about what he learned through Covid and what we can all be learning through the racial unrest. We can all be learners, so listen to the conversation today.

Today I have Steve Kowbel back on the show to help process the things that are happening right now. So, why now? Why 2 white dudes? For centuries white guys have benefitted from a system that has put a higher priority in what we thought and how our lives are affected. It is not a system that has been for people of color.
This episode is not 5 min- it is an hour long because there is a lot to pour through. I hope you can listen and then engage in peaceful dialogue. If you would like to hear more about any of the topics spoken here, please add it in the discussion or email [email protected]. We look forward to moving forward in positive directions, together!

Today I want to start with just the facts. I will share with you some statistics that show why the things we are facing have bubbled over and people are angry. These numbers are not just cerebral but I want you to see them as actual people who are facing the struggle. Imagine being a black kid growing up and facing the problem that 1 out of every 3 black males will end up in prison. How much hope would you have for a better life? Let's continue to learn about the problem, so that we can better understand how to speak out.
I have all of the supporting data for the stats and would be happy yo share them with you.

Today we are beginning a conversation on race and racism. We need to have an open and honest conversation as we see once again a bubbling up of anger and outrage at the injustice. We want to explore together the issues that are underlying and how we can be a part of the solution and no longer being silent. We can't stay in ignorance but learn why people are so angry. We want to learn what we don't know.
