Welcome back! Sorry for the unexpected break, life happens! Today, we talk about the Jack the Ripper case at a really high level. We focus more on things that might not be commonly known and things that have surprisingly been recent. Our very own Sidney was just in London and visited the Jack the Ripper Museum where she learned many new things to share with us!

In the town of Rhinelander, Wisconsin a cryptid was first sighted almost 150 years ago. The creature is said to have features of several animals in one and is quite a sight. The town has completely embraced this with the high school mascot now this cryptid and even a music festival named after it! Join us as we talk about this creature and its history!

The thought of serial killers tends to seem so much more relevant towards the end of the 1970s or later once that phrase was actually coined. However, serial killers have been around much longer, whether we point to famous ones like HH Holmes or Jack the Ripper. Today, we will talk about another serial killer who began their work in the late 1800s and became known as many things, including one of the first Black Widow killers.

In December of 2006, Steven Haataja was reported missing from his work, which was a local state college in Nebraska. He seemed to have disappeared with almost no signs of foul play. However, roughly 3 months later, his body would be found. The scene was gruesome and it didn't take long for this to become a closed case. Although Steven's family has accepted the outcome, many locals believe there was more to this story since there truly are more questions than answers.

We have talked many times about cases where people disappear into thin air and how this is one of the many things that keeps both of us up at night. Today, we will discuss a case that definitely is a head scratcher with much being known prior to the disappearance but little known after.

In just a couple short months, at Nocona General Hospital, more than 20 patients passed away who were aged 62 and up. These deaths surged in comparison to previous months and although most were written off as old age, hospital rumors began to spread. This and a discrepancy in the inventory of a muscle relaxer onsite caused an investigation to launch. What was discovered was an unsettling fact that there was a serial killer amongst the staff. In West Virginia, where coal mining was once a main source of income to entire communities, sits the remnants of one such community. The Whipple Company Store was the center of this particular coal camp and nowadays, this sole building remains, telling the history and possibly hosting many spirits who were quite familiar with this place for more than a century.
