November 06, 2017Let’s talk about sex(ual assault) - The Tactless Know-It-AllsRecently, there has been numerous allegations of sexual assault in Hollywood involving names like: Harvey Weinstein, Nelly, Dustin Hoffman and Brett Ratner. This week we decided to have an honest talk about what we’re seeing as possibly an overuse (and in some cases, misuse) of the term “sexual assault”. Though we sympathize with victims of sexual assault, there are a few inherent issues we have with the politically correct culture of the media when it comes to describing all of these events as somehow being equivalent. We discussed some of the things that have bothered us about the way these stories have been covered and we also discussed how some of this coverage may be causing more harm than good....more1h 3minPlay
October 29, 2017Opioids(Revisited), Chrisette Michele and Texans owner Bob McNair - The Tactless Know-It-AllsThis week we couldn’t decide between 3 subjects we wanted to address in some shape or form, so we decided to do all 3. First we revisited a subject we dedicated an earlier episode to: Opioids. This week, Trump directed the Department of Health and Human Services to declare the “opioid crisis” a public health emergency (although, he didn’t formally request any funds) and we though we’d refresh our positions on the subject with a quick conversation about this crisis. Next, we talked about Chrisette Michele whose decision to agree to perform for Trump’s inauguration apparently was a bad career move. She took to (where else?) social media to reveal she suffered a miscarriage and has also been dropped by her record label. To help “fix” the problem, she reached out to fellow Trump voter and career sufferer Tina Campbell (of Mary Mary…or formerly?…or future member or Chrisette Mary?..anyways). We just decided to be transparent about how we felt about that whole mess. Finally, we talked about Bob McNair, owner of the NFL’s Houston Texans. Last week he made a comment that “we can’t have the inmates running the prison.” in reference to the recent (peaceful, mind you) protests in which NFL players have been involved. We just decided to to get to the bottom of this subject really quickly and give our opinion on how we think this proves Kaepernick’s original claim of being black-balled....more58minPlay

October 23, 2017#Houstonswehaveaproblem - The Tactless Know-It-AllsThis week we’re talking about our money. When we say “our”, we not talking about us as the hosts, but “our” as in black people in America. There seems to be still a disconnect between business owners who are in a position to provide goods and services to the black community and those who actually want to do it. We’ve noticed that there is a blatant disregard for black people’s business in many instances and we wanted to discuss why we think it’s still prevalent in 2017. As recently as this month, Houston’s (restaurant) refused to seat a party of 7 (black people, of course) and when the party tried to accommodate Houston’s by splitting up, they were still denied! We spoke about our personal experiences at that same restaurant and also about a few other place we felt didn’t respect us as customers and as a result no longer get our business. Finally, we talked about black economics in general and what our philosophy is on patronizing businesses, black or otherwise....more55minPlay

October 16, 2017Let’s Talk Music - The Tactless Know-It-AllsThis week we’re talking about music. We had a discussion off the mic about music groups that are no longer actively putting out albums. The debate was basically who we felt could still put an album out today and still put out music that fits 2017’s “vibe”. We both made a list of 5 artists/groups. Our lists were made using different criteria, mainly because we didn’t share before the show what we were using to make our respective lists, but overall, we both chose artists/groups that either made timeless music or were ahead of their time and would still blowup now with the same formula they used when they came out. Make sense? Well, listen and maybe we can better explain what we mean....more1h 7minPlay

October 09, 201740 Acres…hold the mule, but add a pool - The Tactless Know-It-AllsThis past week we’ve been contemplating a serious move and decided to share. We live in Atlanta and there are definitely some positive things here, as there are in many cities. However, we’ve noticed a backwards evolution in the metro area that has inspired us to look for someplace else to call home. We’ve considered moving to either Canada or staying in the states and living in a more self sufficient manner out in the sticks, growing our own food, and not being as susceptible to the negative changes taking place in the city (as we see it). We lay out some of the specific reasons that led us to this decision. We also discuss how much a role gentrification is playing in the original vibe of the city seemingly dying before our very eyes....more53minPlay

October 02, 2017Just Venting - The Tactless Know-It-AllsThis week, we just needed to vent a bit about a couple of things that are bugging us. We gave our thoughts on the Equifax breach, specifically, how it’s affecting us personally. Next we spoke on the #forthedick and #forthepussy challenges on the internet right now. Nothing super serious this week, just getting some madness off of our chests this week. Enjoy!...more42minPlay
