I've been following Chelsea for a couple years now; in depth since their most recent Champions League win. And I have no idea what's happening? Like does this happen with all football teams? Not the "owned by a Russian oligarch" thing, but the "big amounts of turnover leading to ???" thing. Can't wait for the all 11 with just forwards.
Also tweetbot broke again because twitter sucks like immediately after recording this podcast, so I'm back off twitter.
Anyway. This episode, it's our annual top lists extravaganza! Chris (@gokuffy), Helen (@WanderinDreamr), and Chris (@antoniuspius) join me to talk about our favorite anime of the year 2022 for nearly four hours.

A lot of stuff happened, but it all means that this won't come out on time. I at least like to have a placeholder so AGC didn't have to update the post after I finally finished it though, so here it is. Thanks to Vinnie and Diego of AGC for organizing this in the stead of the OGs, the Reverse Thieves.
I watched Tatami Galaxy and SSSS.Gridman. Patz (@PatzPrime) watched Otherside Picnic. And Chris (@gokuffy) forgot to sign up, but he asked Kate to randomly pick three anime from his shelf, so he ended up with Shiki, Santa Company, and Dusk Maiden of Amnesia. So in a way, Ink was his secret Santa.
Hopefully the actual episode will be up before the new year, but no promises.

It's the 100th episode of the podcast! As I say on the recording itself, this isn't the actual 100th episode; we've had a few above 100 since I've done quite a few 0.5 episodes (like the top movies podcasts) that aren't in the mainline of episodes. But at least the episodes where we talk about a sports anime or manga, it's 100 episodes.
I reached this milestone a bit earlier on Manga In Your Ears, just because our formerly biweekly and currently thriceweekly (is that a term for every three weeks?) would outpace Taiiku's monthly schedule regardless of whether I was actually on time on every single month of Taiiku (which I have not been). It's still a lot of episodes to be podcasting.
I also joked on Manga In Your Ears that I've now started two podcasts, but I have no idea how to end any. So I guess anyone listening is stuck pretending to listen until...I die?
Anyway, I digress. Thanks so much to everyone who's been on the podcast up to this point. Thanks to everyone who's listened and commented that you like an episode; it truly brings me unbridled joy (what is the etymology of unbridled? can I also be ungroomed? I kid.).
Thanks especially to Camellia, who started this podcast journey with me. She doesn't appear on as many, or any, episodes anymore, but both iterations of the website literally would not exist without her help. And I owe her a lot more than I give credit to probably. The standing invite will always be there too.
Thanks to Kyle for joining up on that first episode of Chihayafuru with us two; the former Chihayafuruhime himself.
Thanks to Chris and Chris, who have joined up along the way to cover a multitude of subjects, including sports anime, sports manga, just anime in general on a lot of the top anime shows, and branching out into movies, first with our top movies shows, then later with covering a director at a time. I can't wait to jump into Jean-Pierre Melville, and I learned so much from you two watching Kurosawa and Lynch.
Thanks to Ink and Basil, who have been on just so, so many episodes of this podcast and I would certainly have a lesser catalogue if not for those two being always willing to talk about the weirdest and worse dredges of sports anime.
And finally, and of course, thanks to everyone who jumped into this podcast and recorded segments for it. Chris (@gokuffy), Chris (@antoniuspius), Basil (@itsbasiltime), Austin (@bebopshock), Grant (@grantthethief), Lum (@LumRanmaYasha), Mikey (@MikeyShiota), and Tony (@tondog).
Here are a few of the other things mentioned on the podcast:
AWO podcast Basil mentioned on REDLINE - Anime World Order Show # 96 – Redlining a Herocaine Sandwich with Tim Maughan
Blade Licking Thieves - #15: REDLINE
Chris's REDLINE review on Mania (now Fandom Post) - Why Redline is Important and you SHOULD Believe the Hype!

Next time is Anime Secret Santa. Ho ho ho.
The White Sox are eliminated from playoffs, but the Mariners are in, so this is a Mariners fan podcast now.
Anyway. This episode, Chris (@gokuffy), Chris (@antoniuspius), and I close out the David Lynch series entirely and talk about David Lynch: The Art Life. Next, Ink (@ink_just_ink), Basil (@itsbasiltime), and I talk about Futsal Boys!!!!! Finally, Ink and I talk about Fanfare of Adolescence.
That 30 for 30 podcast is called Bloodlines.

Next time is our 100th episode and REDLINE.
I forgot to write this whole intro thing I always do and now the podcast is edited and ready. Anyway, I'm surprised Chelsea fired Thomas Tuchel and I can't imagine what the guy was like behind the scenes with his relationship to the owners to possibly prompt this.
Anyway. Here's another long episode! First, Chris (@gokuffy), Chris (@antoniuspius), and I finish up David Lynch's filmography and Twin Peaks with Twin Peaks: The Return Parts 9-18. Second, Ink (@ink_just_ink), Kenny (@Minoru79), Basil (@itsbasiltime), and I talk about PuraOre! ~Pride of Orange~ and Soriairo Utility. Third and finally, Ruby (@PassionTentacle), Vinnie (@VinnieAveAGC), Basil, and I talk about BIRDIE WING -Golf Girls' Story-.
Here are some articles on the Orientalism of Diane in Twin Peaks: Hanh Nguyen at Indie Wire, Penny Wang at Inciting Sparks, Frank Guan at Vulture (more broadly about all of Lynch's works)

Following up on the previous post here on this website, but for Manga In Your Ears, I went to an NWSL game! Angel City FC v Chicago Red Stars. The Red Stars (my first team, but truth be told, I would support any NWSL team) seemed passive in attack; maybe as a result of no Mal Pugh. And Angel City came out with the 1-0 victory. Great game, always a great experience, and most importantly easy trip to the stadium on the metro. Ban cars.
Anyway. Chris (@gokuffy), Chris (@antoniuspius), and I are back to talk about two Twin Peaks things, but first we had a quick chat about Otakon 2022. Then it's The Missing Pieces. Then it's The Return Parts 1-8. Then it's finally time for the second segment with Chris, Ink (@ink_just_ink), Basil (@itsbasiltime), and I where we chat about Tribe Nine. And finally Basil defends his Taiiku Southern Championship against newcomers Nate (@NateMing) and Bill (@wbforeman999), and also we all talk about Hajime no Ippo.
It's a long episode. I have some regrets about it.
Also apparently I pre-recorded Tribe Nine with intent to post it in a different date than I will, so that explains why it's "November." It is August.
Here's a link to the Effectively Wild episode on Blaseball.

Next time is Twin Peaks: The Return Parts 9-18, PuraOre! ~Pride of Orange~, Sorairo Utility, and BIRDIE WING -Golf Girls' Story-.
I went to two White Sox games here while they were in Anaheim. They only won half the games I went to, but on the other hand, Shohei Ohtani pitched well and that was very exciting on the other end. They're in San Francisco now, and I sort of regret not going to one of those games, but alas.
Anyway. This episode, Chris (@gokuffy), Chris (@antoniuspius), and I talk about David Lynch's most recent feature film, Inland Empire. Then Basil (@itsbasiltime) and I talk about Backflip!! And finally, Ink (@ink_just_ink), Helen (@WanderinDreamr), Basil, and I talk about Dance Dance Danseur.
Also I mention this in the podcast, but I have a lot of podcasts recorded but not released, so I'll double up until I don't have any in the queue, then yet again scramble to figure out what to do for episodes each month. If I have a movie only month, now you know why. Also if it feels close-y at the end of segments, that is also why.

Next time is back to Twin Peaks with The Missing Pieces and The Return parts one through eight, Tribe Nine, and Hajime no Ippo.
Next year is Chelsea's year I feel. Just need a dependable goal scorer and two or three new defenders. Down with City.
Anyway. This episode, Corey (@Modandrocker) and Bamboo (@ANN_Bamboo) rejoin me to talk about some more Marvel Cinematic Universe with MCU TV from WandaVision to Moon Knight. Then we talk about Spider-Man: No Way Home.

You know, I am beginning to think that hiring Tony La Russa, septuagenarian hall of fame manager well past any point of relevancy, was a poor idea.
Anyway. Chris (@gokuffy), Chris (@antoniuspius), and I continue our David Lynch series with the other movie that we've all seen, Mulholland Dr. Then Ink (@ink_just_ink) joins me to talk about Your Lie in April.

Next time is Inland Empire, Sorairo Utility, PuraOre! ~Pride of Orange~, and Backflip!!
As I'm writing this, the White Sox just stopped an eight game slide (their first since 2018) with a win against the Royals, and thanks to a three-run home run by Andrew Vaughn. All I ask is that the White Sox score more runs, and prevent more runs, leading to more wins. Is that so much to ask?
Anyway. This time, Chris (@gokuffy), Chris (@antoniuspius), and I continue our journey through David Lynch's filmography with The Straight Story. Then Helen (@WanderinDreamr) and I talk about Salaryman's Club.
Made two random factual errors in this podcast. Iowa's area code is 712, not 714. 714 is California, and also where I worked, so I got confused. Also the miracle on ice was v. the Soviet Union, not Canada. I regret these errors.
