What Role Does the Rosary Play In Your Life?

Wednesday is one of the great feast days in the Church – The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Heaven. Can you relate to this? You are a Catholic Christian and your family is either non- religious, fallen away Catholic, or of another denomination that does not think kindly of Catholics. Working For Christian Unity

One of the greatest scandals of all time – possibly the greatest – is the division that exists within the Body of Christ. Jesus intended to found one Church, not tens of thousands. Yet, sadly, there exist so many differences between the various Christian traditions that it creates a barrier for those who are seeking truth to know where to find it. Sure, we need to focus a lot on what unites us. But if we were to overcome the differences and live according to the ways laid out for us by the Lord, the world would be vastly different. In fact, it would likely be transformed overnight. This topic was inspired by one of our listeners going through stage 4 cancer. Her doctors keep asking her where she sees herself in 5 years. So many times when one is going through a major health crisis, the last thing they are thinking about is 5 years ahead. Yet, it has been found that part of healing is this idea of envisioning a brighter future. Therefore it is good to plan ahead, dream big and see yourself in 5 years. It can be a healthy exercise. If someone were to ask you…Where do you see yourself in 5 years or what is your 5 year plan? How would you answer? Maybe you want to be in top physical shape, graduate college, or move to another part of the country or world. Life can be adventurous when we embrace the present moment, but look ahead to exciting things.

People ask us all the time to remember them in our prayers. Family members, friends, neighbors, co-workers, fellow parishioners. It’s really not humanly possible to call to mind each and every intention when we’re making our daily prayer time. So, what steps do you take to make sure that all of your spiritual bases are covered? Some people keep a written list. Others commend to their prayers the people who ask for them right at the moment they make the request, and leave it to the Lord to include them whenever they pray. What is your way of doing this?

It is so easy in today’s world to find the things that are going wrong in situations, relationships, etc. We know how to criticize, but do we really understand the powerful healing effects of complimenting? Let’s take inventory of our lives and see if we tend to be more complimentary or critical in our everyday behavior. Then let’s challenge one another to begin to compliment first before being ready to impart a criticism. Putting People on Pedestals

Proper Attire For Mass

The Church has no official guidelines on how to dress when attending Holy Mass. Have We Lost the Gift of One Another?

The Blessed Trinity – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – form a communion of persons. Since man is made in the image and likeness of God, it follows that we are most authentically ourselves when we are living in communion with one another. There is a crisis of that in today’s world. People are isolating themselves in ways never seen before. We often hide behind our gadgets and public profiles, thinking that we are actually inviting people into our lives and entering theirs. But is that really the case? Is it actually possible to have “communion” with others without being in their presence and interacting with them? A few other examples might be online shopping, drive thru food ordering and automation and robots taking the places of many human functions.
