This week I'm spending some time contemplating "taking a break" and the impact it has on our future life and marriage.
The more I contemplate, the better I understand why so many of you keep pushing taking a break to the bottom of your list of things to do.
The more I contemplate the fear of taking a break, the better I understand why couples are afraid to "take a break."
What exactly does taking a break mean to you?
Does it mean you are lazy, so instead you fill your time with doing things that won't matter at the end of your life? Things that won't help you get to know yourself better, things that would help you get to know your spouse better?
Things that might even push the two of you further apart?
Do you trust yourself enough to know that taking a break doesn't mean you'll never get to the things that matter?
Actually, did you know that taking a break will help you better understand what it is you need to do to get closer to the things that matter?
Actually.
What if taking a break helped you see all the beautiful things you already have, giving you time to appreciate them while allowing you to see with more clarity what it is you want to step towards next?
If you think taking a break is only something lazy people do, then this week's episode is for you.
Whether taking a break for yourself or from your marriage, it might be exactly what you need to do to create what you want to create.
