Take Back Your Authority with Heather Bulthuis

# Satan Is Real — But So Is Your Authority in Christ

**Satan is real. Demons are real. Spiritual warfare is real. But Jesus Christ has already won the victory.**

One of Satan’s greatest schemes is deception. If he can convince you that he doesn’t exist, why would you guard yourself against his lies? Why would you put on the Armor of God? Why would you resist him?

The Bible tells us:

**“In order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes.” — 2 Corinthians 2:11**

In this episode of Take Back Your Authority with Heather Bulthuis, we expose some of the enemy’s schemes—not to glorify Satan or create fear, but so that we can recognize deception and stand firmly in the truth of God’s Word.

We’ll talk about:

⚔️ Why Satan and spiritual warfare are real
⚔️ How Satan can masquerade as an angel of light
⚔️ Why Satan is called the “god of this age”
⚔️ The battlefield of the mind
⚔️ Nine schemes Satan uses, including deception, distraction, temptation, accusation, fear, division, twisting Scripture, doubting God’s character, and isolation
⚔️ How to recognize, reject, and replace the enemy’s lies
⚔️ How to put on the full Armor of God
⚔️ The authority believers have through Jesus Christ
⚔️ Why you do NOT need to live afraid of the enemy

**“The one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” — 1 John 4:4**

Satan is not God’s equal.

Jesus Christ has already defeated the powers of darkness.

So don’t live afraid.

**Wake up. Know God’s Word. Know the enemy’s schemes. Guard your mind. Put on your armor. Stay close to Jesus. And STAND FIRM.**

Why did Jonah run from God? Was the story really about a big fish—or is there a much deeper message?

In this episode of Take Back Your Authority with Heather Bulthuis, we walk verse by verse through the entire Book of Jonah and uncover the powerful lessons that many people miss.

Jonah isn't just the story of a prophet swallowed by a great fish. It's a story about God's incredible mercy, His patience, His desire for people to repent, and His love for every nation. It also challenges us to examine our own hearts:

• Are we obeying God when He calls us?
• Do we celebrate when God shows mercy to others?
• Are we more concerned with our own comfort than with people's eternity?
• Can God use difficult circumstances to redirect our lives?

In this Bible study you'll learn:

✔ Why Jonah fled from God's calling
✔ The historical background of Nineveh and the Assyrians
✔ What the great fish really represents
✔ God's heart for repentance before judgment
✔ Why Jonah became angry when Nineveh repented
✔ The lesson of the vine and what it teaches about gratitude
✔ How the Book of Jonah applies to Christians today

Whether you've read Jonah many times or this is your first time studying it, I pray this teaching encourages you to trust God's plan, extend His mercy to others, and walk in obedience to His calling.

Samson was chosen by God before he was even born. He was called, set apart, and given supernatural strength to begin delivering Israel from the Philistines.

But Samson also made mistakes.

He compromised. He followed his desires. He allowed anger to influence his choices. He ignored warning signs and continued putting himself in places of temptation.

And eventually, there were consequences.

In this Bible study, we are walking through Judges 13–16 and looking at the life of Samson—from his miraculous birth and calling, to Delilah and the loss of his strength, to his final prayer when he called out to God one more time.

Samson's story is about calling, choices, compromise, consequences, God's mercy, and redemption.

One of my favorite moments in Samson's story is found in Judges 16:22:

“But the hair on his head began to grow again after it had been shaved.”

His story wasn't over.

And maybe you need to hear this today:

YOUR MISTAKES DO NOT HAVE TO BE THE FINAL CHAPTER OF YOUR STORY.

Maybe you've made mistakes.

Maybe you've compromised.

Maybe you've ignored God's warnings.

Maybe you feel like you've wasted years of your life or gone in a direction God never intended for you to go.

Samson's life reminds us that God can still work through imperfect people.

In this episode, we talk about:

• Samson's calling before he was born
• The Nazirite vow
• Samson's supernatural strength
• How small compromises can become strongholds
• Samson's anger and desire for revenge
• Why we shouldn't keep returning to places of temptation
• Samson and Delilah
• The true source of Samson's strength
• The consequences of Samson's choices
• Samson's final prayer to God
• God's mercy and redemption
• Why your mistakes don't have to define the rest of your life

What if praise is more than worship—what if it is also a powerful spiritual weapon?

In this episode of Take Back Your Authority with Heather Bulthuis, we explore the power and importance of praising God, the biblical names of God, the authority Jesus has given believers, and how to prepare ourselves as the Bride of Christ.

When we praise God in the middle of our circumstances, we stop magnifying the mountain and begin magnifying the One who is greater than every mountain.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

✨ Why praise is a powerful weapon in spiritual warfare
✨ How Paul and Silas praised God before their chains fell off
✨ Why Jehoshaphat sent worshipers ahead of the army
✨ More than 30 biblical names of God and what they reveal about His character
✨ How to speak God’s Word over fear, sickness, lack, worry, and opposition
✨ What it means to use your authority through Jesus Christ
✨ How to prepare your heart as the Bride of Christ
✨ Powerful declarations you can speak over your life

Some of the names of God discussed include:

• Abba—our loving Father
• Elohim—our Creator
• El Shaddai—God Almighty
• El Roi—the God who sees us
• Jehovah Jireh—the Lord our Provider
• Jehovah Rapha—the Lord our Healer
• Jehovah Shalom—the Lord our Peace
• Jehovah Nissi—the Lord our Banner
• Jehovah Rohi—the Lord our Shepherd
• Jehovah Tsidkenu—the Lord our Righteousness
• Jesus, Yeshua—the Lord who saves
• Emmanuel—God with us
• Logos—the living Word of God

Jesus tells us in Mark 11:22–23 to speak to the mountain. We do not have to spend all of our time talking about the problem. We can stand on God’s Word, praise Him for who He is, and speak His truth over our circumstances with the authority Jesus has given us.

Remember: Your circumstances do not change who God is.

Welcome back to Take Back Your Authority with Heather Bulthuis!

In this episode, we're diving into one of the most powerful chapters in Scripture regarding God's blessings for His people: Deuteronomy 28. Together we'll explore God's heart toward His children, why He gives us instructions to follow, what biblical prosperity really means, and how these promises apply to believers today.

We'll discuss:

✅ The historical context of Deuteronomy and Moses' final message to Israel
✅ The blessings found in Deuteronomy 28
✅ Why God's commands are acts of love, not religious burdens
✅ What biblical prosperity really means
✅ Examples of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, David, and Solomon
✅ The principle of sowing and reaping
✅ God's desire for His children to walk in peace, provision, wisdom, and purpose
✅ How to renew your mind and align your life with God's promises

One of the key truths from this episode is that God's instructions are not meant to restrict us—they are meant to guide us into the abundant life He desires for us. As Jesus said:

"I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." (John 10:10)

In this powerful episode of Take Back Your Authority with Heather Bulthuis, my guest Sally shares her incredible testimony of walking through a life-threatening battle with COVID pneumonia — and how Jesus showed up when she was at death’s door.

Sally shares how she was alone in the hospital, fighting for her life, listening to worship music, praying, and trusting God when everything looked impossible. In the middle of that battle, she had a powerful encounter with Jesus that changed her life forever.

This conversation is a reminder that Jesus is near in the darkest valleys, that worship is powerful, and that as believers, we have been given authority in the name of Jesus.

We talk about:

• Sally’s testimony of being born with a cleft lip and palate
• Walking through rejection, insecurity, and many surgeries
• Her battle with COVID pneumonia
• The moment Jesus showed up in her hospital room
• Taking authority over the enemy in Jesus’ name
• The power of worship during spiritual battles
• Why believers need to know the Word of God
• How God uses our hardest seasons to minister to others

Jesus said in Luke 10:19:
“I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.”

If you are walking through fear, sickness, grief, or a battle that feels impossible, I pray this episode reminds you that God is with you, Jesus still heals, and the enemy does not get the final word.
