I met Bates as my husband’s Sgt. in the Marine Corps. Immediately he was intimidating to me, but as we grew to know each other, I quickly realized how much more to his story I had to learn. 

In this episode, you’ll hear how Bates (that’s what we call him) went from living in an abandoned school bus, to owning a plane that he flies his family and friends around in.
