It's almost time for kids to go back to school with the expectation on faculty, parents, and children that it will be done 100% virtually - at least for the rest of 2020. Our favorite places have opened up but have recently been closed or are on their way to that status due to COVID-19. Our new norm has caused certain feelings and questions to arise. How do we get through this? Can we be there for one another during such a time as this? Kory and Gen the Builder emphasize the simple but purpose giving belief that life matters. We are unable to move forward until we seek truth, allow the murky water to settle, and then have true transparent conversation in which we really see one another. Realize this - seeing one another involves seeing our colors.  When we know the reason for which we are created and why we exist including our stories, our histories -  we will be able to act with determination and a desire to have hope and create intentions as a human race. Let's elevate our way of thinking, our way of being!

The first session of Take the Elevator really drives the point home that black lives matter and at the same time understanding we need other lives to complete this process. I am proud that our first podcast is very real to what my husband is experiencing as a man of color.  I make no apologies for it and instead know that this is a strong start to our purpose and that is to elevate people.

Typically when we take the elevator, we are with people we don't know who are just trying to get to a particular floor. What would happen if we actually had the time to talk and hear each other's stories, each other's life journey? We might find that we have a lot in common or a lot in differences but if we really just really listened to those stories, we would see that we are not alone in our experiences. This is the intro to a podcast called, Take the Elevator. It will introduce you to the Elevators and give you a preview to the passion that we have for life and all that it gives and sometimes takes away. This is real talk with real people and it's all about elevation - looking up - and just being who you are meant to be and using the gifts, abilities, and talents that were meant just for you.
