hi guys welcome to my new show the nft diaries or something like that i haven't really decided on a title yet i've only just had a penny drop moment yesterday and i don't think it was an accident that it happened on the final day of a terrible trading year but uh i had a real awakening in the understanding of nfts finally because a week or so ago i thought oh no that honestly what a waste of everyone's time it's going to be a huge fad and it's just not true and i'll i'm going to tell you a few reasons why i don't think it's a fad and i think it's really important that you start getting involved um first of all the terrible year of coverd and the future likelihood of of pandemics you know we're going to get more of these it's going to happen they're just adding to the power of purchasing something that doesn't involve transport going to a shop employing people um you know to do sort of ground work so that's one reason i've got a good feeling about these but there's another reason nobody's buying art anymore for uh you know for their walls um if they do put stuff on their walls it tends to be um you know very cheap things that they bought in a supermarket or whatever so for the artist trying to sell your wares to people to put on their walls it's really no it's it's not happening and the reason it's not happening is because printing is very cheap we can upload pictures of our kids and have a blown up for peanuts and that's what people are doing that's where people are going now i sell a lot of art through my printers or rather i don't actually sell much of it at all i try to sell it through my printer through a drop ship system and um nobody's interested i have a bit better luck with clothing and you know you can understand why you would have better luck with clothing clothing with a printed design on it is a bit harder to come by it takes a lot of work actually to get a design ready to make it good for putting on a piece of clothing and my clothes aren't just you know any slap dash image shoved on the front of a t-shirt they they're much much more intrinsically artwork based than that um but i it takes a lot of work and it's difficult to copy them whereas a print very very easy to copy so i think that's another reason the problem with investment when you buy an investment artwork in hard copy they're usually very very expensive and they're also prone to be stolen now i'm not going to lie to you and say that nfts can't be stolen because they can be but only if you're a bit negligent about how you store your information so as long as you've got a good system for passwords and that sort of thing you they're pretty hard to um to steal somebody to steal them somebody has to hack into your account and that's hard that's much harder let me tell you than breaking into your house i promise you that um so what else they you've got this advancing horse of technology and it's going so so very very quickly that it's leaving people behind old school artists are getting left behind and it can do no harm to purchase an nft artwork that some of them are so cheap it seems foolhardy not to purchase them this is quite interesting isn't it you can buy them for such a small amount of money you can put in offers to artists who are beavering away all over the world and they can accept your offer and you get sent the new um the details of your property and and you have what's called a wallet and you it and there's no um you know it's not a hard cash that it exchanges hands it's all sort of crypto currencies uh you know you have um something called a wallet and you at some point you of course you have to put real money in to buy the i'm not going to call it pretend money because it's it really isn't pretend money at all and the banks i assure you the banks are going to be trading very very soon and in all these currencies and we're going to be able to go to the bank and purchase...

Pride and Prejudice is the most famous of Jane Austen's novels.
The opening line is one of the most famous in English literature -

'It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.'

First written between 1796 and 1797, this novel was initially called First Impressions, but was never published under that title. Following revisions, it was published on 28 January 1813 by the same Mr. Egerton of the Military Library, Whitehall, who had brought out Sense and Sensibility. Like both its predecessor and Northanger Abbey, it was written at Steventon Rectory.
