hello tale tellers it's vapour punk are you happy today i'm in a really really happy mood because i can't stop thinking about christmas and seeing all my family and eating loads of chocolate

anyway i've made a jazz version of an old christmas carol the christmas carol is we wish you a merry christmas it's one of my favorites all i did was put some swing into the drum beat and it really changed it and it's really happy and it makes you think of wonderful christmasy things it's a bit like lift music you know the sort of music that you get in lifts they call that easy listening but actually i think it's quite hard to make really good easy listening music so see what you think of this one i think it's good fun i also used some latin rhythms and some latin percussion instruments and then i used loads and loads of synthesizer and some other really cool stuff on my garage band i really really like it i'm going to do lots more so come back tomorrow and see what else i've done have a great day

chapter 5 of black beauty this librivox recording is in the public domain black beauty by anna sewell chapter 5 a fair start the name of the coachman was john manley he had a wife and one little child and they lived in the coachman's cottage very near the stables the next morning he took me into the yard and gave me a good grooming and just as i was going into my box with my coat soft and bright the squire came in to look at me and seemed pleased john he said i meant to have tried the new horse this morning but i have other business you may as well take him around after breakfast go by the common and the high wood and back by the water mill and the river that will show his paces i will sir said john after breakfast he came and fitted me with a bridle he was very particular in letting out and taking in the straps to fit my head comfortably then he bought a saddle but it was not broad enough for my back he saw it in a minute and went for another which fitted nicely he rode me first slowly then a trot then a canter and when we were on the common he gave me a light touch with his whip and we had a splendid gallop oh my boy he said as he pulled me up you would like to follow the hounds i think as we came back through the park we met the squire and mrs gordon walking they stopped and john jumped off well john how does he go first rate sir answered john he is as fleet as a deer and has a fine spirit too but the lightest touch of the rain will guide him down at the end of the common we met one of those travelling carts hung all over with baskets rugs and such like you know sir many horses will not pass those carts quietly he just took a good look at it and then went on as quiet and pleasant as could be they were shooting rabbits near the high wood and a gun went off close by he pulled up a little and looked but did not stir a step to right or left i just held the reign steady and did not hurry him and it's my opinion he has not been frightened or ill used while he was young that's well said the squire i will try him myself tomorrow the next day i was brought up for my master i remembered my mother's counsel and my good old masters and i tried to do exactly what he wanted me to do i found he was a very good rider and thoughtful for his horse too when he came home the lady was at the whole door as he rode up well my dear she said how do you like him he is exactly what john said he replied a pleasant a creature i never wish to mount what should we call him would you like ebony said she he is as black as ebony no not ebony will you call him blackbird like your uncle's old horse no he is far handsomer than old blackbird ever was yes she said he really is quite a beauty and he has such a sweet good tempered face and such a fine intelligent eye what do you say to calling him black beauty black beauty why yes i think that is a very good name if you like it shall be his name and so it was

when john went into the stable he told james that master and mistress had chosen a good sensible english name for me that meant something not like morengo or pegasus or abdallah they both laughed and james said if it was not for bringing back the past i should have named him rubbery for i never saw two horses more alike that's no wonder said john didn't you know that farmer grey's old duchess was the mother of them both i had never heard that before and so poor rob roy who was killed at that hunt was my brother i did not wonder that my mother was so troubled it seems that horses have no relations at least they never know each other after they are sold

john seemed very proud of me he used to make my mane and tail almost as smooth as a lady's hair and he would talk to me a great deal of course i did not...

hi guys now this is the third time i've tried to play you this track because i still can't get grips with all these buttons in the recording studio it's just crazy now i think you're going to be about to hear at this time so this is our track we wish you a merry christmas by me and the band vapour punk of course cuddles momo in the space flies and bang crash wallop you'll be able to hear bang crash warlock actually quite loudly bang bang bang bang bang crash walloping um we'll talk about it tomorrow in more detail because i know vapor punk wants to introduce it and talk about all the different aspects of putting this music together and what happens when you take an old song that's really quite uh boring because everybody knows it and nobody does much with it and then you add all these wonderful things like vapour punk does you know you get your synthesizer out and your cello and you know you i've got a giant recorder i bought the other day a big base recorder you can use just a little recorder you can do all sorts of really exciting things so i thought i'd play this with for each night i'm really tired i was like oh goodness me oh excuse me i had such a long hard day i really have i listened to all those stories a minute ago and they were quite tiring and more stories to marriage stories story stories but more to the point we're going to be doing lots and lots of fun stuff over the coming weeks on the radio live stuff like now i can have a chat to you anyway i should stop talking and i'm going to go to bed pretty soon so here is we wish you a merry christmas by yes vaper punk and of course the telltale orchestra now i hope you can hear it this time and i hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it i'll be back tomorrow

chapter 1 of wind in the willows by kenneth graham this liverbox recording is in the public domain for more information or to volunteer please visit librivox.org recording by sharbaga falk the riverbank the mole had been working very hard all the morning spring cleaning his little home first with brooms then with dusters then on ladders and steps and chairs with a brush and a pail of white wash till he had dust in his throat and eyes and splashes of whitewash all over his black fur and an aching back and weary arms spring was moving in the air above and in the earth below and around him penetrating even his dark and lowly little house with its spirit of divine discontent and longing it was small wonder then that he suddenly flung down his brush on the floor and said bother and oh blow and also hang spring cleaning and bolted out of the house without even waiting to put on his coat something up above was calling him imperiously and he made for the steep little tunnel which answered in his case to the graveled carriage drive owned by animals whose residences are nearer to the sun and air so he scraped and scratched and scrabbled and scrooged and then he scrooged again and scrambled and scratched and scraped working busily with his little paws and muttering to himself up we go up we go till at last pop his snout came out into the sunlight and he found himself rolling in the warm grass of a great meadow this is fine he said to himself this is better than whitewashing the sunshine struck hot on his fur soft breezes crest his heated brow and after the seclusion of the sellerage he had lived in so long the carol of happy birds fell on his dulled hearing almost like a shout jumping off all his four legs at once in the joy of living in the delight of spring without its cleaning he pursued his way across the meadow till he reached the hedge on the further side hold up said an elderly rabbit at the gap six pence for the privilege of passing by the private road he was bowled over in an instant by the impatient and contemptuous mole who trotted along the side of the hedge chaffing the other rabbits as they peeped hurriedly from their holes to see what the row is about onion sauce onion sauce he remarked jeeringly and was gone before they could think of a thoroughly satisfactory reply then they all started grumbling at each other how stupid you are why didn't you tell him well why didn't you say you might have reminded him and so on in the usual way but of course it was then much too late as always is the case it all seemed too good to be true hither and thither through the meadows he rambled busily along the hedge rows across the copses finding everywhere birds building flowers budding leaves thrusting everything happy and progressive and occupied and instead of having an uneasy conscience pricking him and whispering whitewash he somehow could only feel how jolly it was to be the only idol dog among all these busy citizens after all the best part of a holiday is perhaps not so much to be resting yourself as to see all the other fellows busy working he thought his happiness was complete when as he meandered aimlessly along suddenly he stood by the edge of a full-fed river never in his life had he seen a river before this sleek sinuous full-bodied animal chasing and chuckling gripping things with a gurgle and leaving them with a laugh to fling itself on fresh playmates that shook themselves free and were cut again and held all was a shake and a shiver glints and gleams and sparkles rustle and swirl chatter and bubble the mole was bewitched entranced fascinated by the side of the river he trotted as one trots when very small by the side of a man who holds one spellbound by exciting stories and when tired at last he sat on the bank while the river still chattered onto him a babbling procession of the best stories in the world sent from...
