The days are cold and short in the northern hemisphere at the moment, not my favourite time of the year. But we have a lot of nice music in the program which will make me feel better, and I hope you too. Again we got some new songs from artists we have played before. One new artist joined TalentCast last week and of course we will play the Song of the Week winner. We start the program with a band from the UK. They made a video for this song which you can watch on the main page of our website, because it's our Videoclip of the Month for December.

Last week we had a special edition in which we remembered one of our long-time regular listeners, Lucretia. This is a regular edition of TalentCast again. We will play 2 newcomers, some new songs from artists we have played before, one of the songs we played in our listening session of last Monday and of course the Song of the Week winner. Last Monday (the 24th), we hosted The Imaginary Suitcase's new 6-track EP, titled "The shape of things forsaken" in our 4th album listening session. It was a nice session again. Thank you to all who joined. On January the 4th, we will host the new album "North Sea" of Ophelia Syndrome from Hamilton in Canada and of course you are (again) very welcome to join the listening session.

This is a special edition of TalentCast, because last week we heard the sad news that one of our long-time regular listeners, known on music sites as Lucretia, had recently passed away. Music was one of Lucretia’s biggest passions. She followed and supported many independent bands and artists and was always looking for more new music. Lucretia also kept a blog where she wrote about her music discoveries and shared her reflections about the new music industry and the relationships between artists and their fans. On November the 20th in 2010, Catself interviewed Lucretia on her blog post "1000 True Friends", which talks about the artist-fan relationship from the fan’s perspective. Thanks to her blog and her votes, we know quite a lot about her favourite music. Today we will play some of the artists Lucretia liked a lot, to honour her and as a big thank you for all her support for independent musicians. On Monday the 24th at 9pm (Central European Time) we will host our fourth album listening session. Then you can be among the first to hear the album "The shape of things forsaken" of The Imaginary Suitcase from Belgium. This will be an open listening session, so you are all very welcome to join. There are no tickets and no logging in, just come to our website and listen.

Last week's voting was exiting until the last moment because it was again a close finish. Just like last week, the winner gathered just one vote more then number two. Today we have quite some songs from the UK on the playlist, but of course we play a lot of songs from other countries too, for example from Germany, Finland, Austria, Turkey, Spain, Italy, US, Canada and Chile. The first song in the program is by a singer-songwriter who you can see live the upcoming days, at least when you are in the Netherlands.

We have again selected some interesting tunes from around the globe (The Netherlands, UK, Finland, Hungary, US, Mexico, South Africa and New Zealand) for you. Almost 50% of the artists in this week's program are based in the Netherlands. We didn't do that on purpose, it's just a coincidence. Two artists joined TalentCast last week. Of course we play them in this program. Both are very interesting, so you have a very good reason to tune in again. Last Sunday we hosted our third album listening session of Clive Barratt’s debut album Wall Of Storms. Quite a few people joined and it was nice to listen and to chat together.
