OK, one perennial favorite. But he’s a big boy! Come enjoy some passages reflecting the earlier appearances of Detritus the troll, of whom the l-space wiki says “Detritus may very well be the single most successful character in the entire Discworld canon, moving from a semi-sentient, brutalized bouncer chained to a wall to a highly-regarded (at least by Vimes) senior sergeant in the Watch who makes very important and significant contributions to plot development in many of the major events in Ankh-Morpork.

It’s minor characters from the “Lancre and the Witches” section of the L-space wiki this week, which include a fair number of witches, living or dead; as well as Mr. Brooks and the inimitable Hodgesaargh. With some birdwalking about the Lancre Wowhawk and the scalbie. Not a thousand elephants, though.

I am reiterating my challenge to listeners to subscribe to the show on Patreon.  July 4th was the one-year anniversary of the show’s arrival there, and in that year I have had 10 listeners become Patreon supporters. My challenge to you is to subscribe to Patreon if you haven’t already. If you can’t swing that, then the challenge is to make a one-time PayPal donation to the show (at [email protected]). To sweeten the pot a little, I will send out bonus episode(s) to one-time PayPal donors at the same rate as Patreon subscribers, that is, one for every $5 donated.
