Opening Song: Michael Jackson "They Don't Care About Us"
This podcast is the intro to Tales From The Hood.
In this podcast we jump right into residents concerns that are serious issues when it comes to personal, family, community and professional development.
Residents have expressed concerns in the past about these lingering issues. In my early years on the community scene I can recall hosting several round tables discussions to table community concerns and not much has changed in 20 years.
The fact that during my fields studies into systemic racism I have come across practices that emulate this, such as property managers removing resident meeting signs to stop residents to meet.
This explains the level of frustration I met from them when beginning this study. This method of silencing voices is like putting a lid on top of a boiling pot.
The way just-ice works is by ignoring issues long enough (putting them on ice) to make them a problem for other people which then become political plug ins.

Episode #2 | We explore the connections between the Negro problem concerns of the past and those of the present. It shares tales from the hood regarding resident meetings being sabotaged by the Management. Thank goodness we had residents who we able to attend or stop in. The question we have is why did they do this if they want to stop the negro problem?
