  • Bonus Pod: Fortunately, The Milk pt. 1

Hello, and welcome to the first episode in a short series of bonus pods we recorded about Neil Gaiman's Fortunately, The Milk.

You may be wondering why this isn't episode 9, and there's a good reason why it isn't: a little over a month ago, the hard drive containing all of our episode audio for 1-9 dropped approximately 8 inches onto a wooden floor and broke beyond a reasonably priced repair.

Our original recording of episode 9 is now stuck behind a very expensive paywall, and we had to re-record it. This means we also have to edit the new recording, which takes time. But we still wanted to give y'all something to listen to while we are catching back up.

We ran a twitter poll to see what our bonus episodes should be about, and Fortunately, The Milk won! It's a delightful book, and allows us to have a bit of a palette cleanser between the sad events of our last few episodes and the month and a half's worth of episodes that will cover Kvothe's time in Tarbean.

This will be a two part series, and episode 9 will release on February 25th, 2020 (or the 22nd if you're signed up for early access at Patreon.com/waystonepod).

  • The Art of Getting Lost - TftWS 1x08

Welcome to Tales from the Waystone, Episode 8; The Art of Getting Lost, where we will be discussing chapters eighteen and nineteen of Patrick Rothfuss' The Name of the Wind through a lens of Self Care.

The audio for this episode was pretty quiet when we recorded because we both got really emotional. We amplified the sound, though it might still be a little low in some spots. We apologize if it sounds a little off.

In terms of discussion, this episode covers topics dealing with grief and loss.

It's one of the best (if not the best) episodes so far, and we hope you enjoy it.

Note: Our original audio for episode 9 was lost, so we'll be doing a two-part mini-series of shorter bonus pods on Neil Gaiman's Fortunately, The Milk over the next two weeks to make up for lost editing time. Episode 9 will release on February 25th, 2020.

Welcome to Tales from the Waystone, Episode 7; Be Wary of Folly, where we will be discussing chapters fifteen through seventeen of Patrick Rothfuss' The Name of the Wind through a lens of Folly.

This episode deals with tragic circumstances for our protagonist, and though we approached it as sensitively as we could, we understand if it's a bit too intense for some listeners.

        About Tales from the Waystone

        From the publisher's feed

A Kingkiller Chronicle re-read podcast where we do a deep dive into the books of Patrick Rothfuss. We recommend starting with episode 1 as our episodes are quite sequential.
