What is creativity? Why is it important? How should it inform the modern craft of journalism? And for that matter, everything we do in life?
Many such questions - not to mention an old school mention of something called a typewriter - are covered. Listen and rediscover those creative juices!

30 min - Tales Of City - "Family is the First Heartbreak"
This was the first episode that I produced while a student at City. Alongside Tim Utzig, we spoke with MA Creative Writing student Aderonke Adeola who told us all about her writing and how within it, she explores the universal issues of family and class through the lens of Nigerian culture and society.
And as an extra special bonus, Aderonke reads out an excerpt from her latest work for us to enjoy and discuss.

About Tales of City
From the publisher's feed
Tales of City - The podcast where we hear some of the stories from the lives and experiences of the people who make City University the place that it is.
I came up with the concept…
for ToC as part of my work on City's first ever MA Podcasting course. Hence why at the end of the first episode, I direct listeners to the Word on the Square website which will continue to be a "sandpit" for future students. So be sure to check out what the new cohort come up with in 2025.
In the meantime, although I have now graduated from City, I wanted to explore further the Tales of City concept and collect some of the wonderful stories from a university that I have grown to love. Join me as I speak with the fascinating people that make the institution what it is.
