The internet can be a dangerous place... Unless you know someone in real life, there is really no telling who is on the other side of the computer screen.

In May of 2005, Thomas Montgomery, who is 46 years old, starts an online affair posing as an 18 year old muscular Marine sniper. There may be some truth to this only persona... Thomas was once 18, and he was once in the marines. That's about it. However Thomas Montgomery becomes invested in this 18 year old version of himself that he has fabricated and almost believes it can somehow be real. His 18 year old persona meets an 18 year old girl and they begin a torrid online affair... Until his online girlfriend finds out who he truly is... from his real life wife. The events that unfold as a result of this affair, result in the murder of a young man named Brian Barrett, the only person that was being their true self.
