On this week’s episode Hristo and Josh are joined by the lovely Donato, who is headlining a new peer mentoring scheme supported by the student’s union. Donato discusses the importance of finding a safe place for students to share their experiences and emotions, some of the challenges he has faced during his time at university and different ways to engage with the support available.
On today’s episode, Hristo and Josh are joined by Jacob, a first year student at Coventry University.
They discuss a very serious condition – psychotic depression - a subtype of major depression that occurs when a severe depressive illness includes some form of psychosis.
Jacob was recently diagnosed with psychotic depression and was kind enough to come on and share his journey so far. He talks about his experiences, treatment, challenges and less known information about the condition.

They discuss the mental health applications of weight loss, weight gain, body image, its representation in media and the stigma around it, especially in the context of the pandemic.
Dimitrios has gone through a rollercoaster of a journey, going through significant weight gains and losses in the past two years. He provides insight into how that affected him, how he managed to overcome it and the steps he plans to take for the future.
