🎲 Roll for Art – Fine Line Eye Challenge 👁️

This week on the podcast, the dice decide our fate once again. We rolled up a challenge that’s all about control, patience, and tiny details: drawing an eye using pen only, in a fine line and dot work style.

No pencils. No erasing. Just clean lines, intentional dots, and trusting the process. In this episode of Parlor No. 13, we take on Kratos from God of War, reimagined through the bold lines, heavy blacks, and limited color palette of American Traditional tattoo art. We break down how translating a modern, hyper-detailed character into a classic tattoo style forces you to strip things down to their most powerful elements—just like Kratos himself.

We rolled the dice and landed on an angel, drawn in a neo-traditional style using nothing but graphite pencil. Bold linework, smooth gradients, and classic tattoo-inspired structure meet soft shading and realistic details—all in raw black and white.

Neo-traditional gives us the best of both worlds: strong, timeless shapes with just enough realism to bring the angel to life. No color to hide behind here—every highlight, shadow, and texture has to earn its place on the page.

As always, the rules were decided by the dice 🎲—because D&D logic belongs everywhere, even in art. Two artists enter, one piece earns the win, and YOU decide the outcome.

This week’s Roll for Art challenge brought the holiday vibes in full force 🎄🎲

The dice landed on Realism, Alcohol Markers, and a classic Christmas red truck hauling a tree in the back. Shiny paint, soft winter shadows, crisp highlights, and that unmistakable festive nostalgia all came together in this piece.
