James Joyce 1307 is a rapper, producer writer, warrior poet, and label champ of 1307 records. Yayo Kabar is a beatmaker, mixer/masterer/engineer/, overall skilled musician, and scientist. The one-two team of Joyce and Yayo have dropped a new album entitled "Neptune" earlier this week. A staggering work of unique alternative hip hop that has a nearly unmatched seasonal affectation. Two of my favorites to talk to. 1307 Records! We talk about the album, astrology, the value of entertainment, the influence of psychedelia on their work, and more. Cat Toren is a jazz pianist, composer, teacher, and master improviser. Her new album as Cat Toren's Human Kind "Scintillating Beauty" is out now on Panormaic Records. "Scintillating Beauty" has become, by far, a front runner for album of year. A truly transportive spirtual work of musical resolve and healing. We had a wonderful conversation converting the nature of improvation, expressing non-musical ideas through sound, the influence and imporantace of artstic mediums on one another, and more. Give "Sciltillating Beauty" a listen below.
