Most of the times, we would have thought like, why no one is understanding me. Everyone is taking my feelings for granted. But in most of the cases, this is because of the invisible psychological concept called curse of knowledge. Because of this, we tend to think like, the person who is listening should also perceive the message conveyed as is in our mind. We often over promise and under deliver in our life. This may not cause problems, but when it comes to relationship especially the intimate one's, this is a HUGE mistake. When we make a promise, we create HOPE, when we keep up the promise, the HOPE is getting converted into TRUST. When we don't keep up the promise, the HOPE is translated into UNTRUSTWORTHY or in worst cases BETRAYAL!

Next time, when you feel urged to promise, hold it for a second and think more than once before committing to it!
