Despite being afflicted with the Corona virus, Steve bravely joins Rooney (remotely of course) in discussing the Tom Cruise film The Last Samurai. And despite his affliction, they still manage to drop more spoilers for The Mandalorian, plan to found their own country, rant about racism, and discuss spiritualism!

It's a packed episode, and we've no idea what happened to Steve's audio from about 30 minutes in - we can only blame the 'rona!

The boys descend into the gritty, shadowy streets of an animated Gotham City this week, discussing part 1 on the animated version of Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, based on Frank Miller's seminal comic book of the same name.

But of course, they are pathologically incapable of staying on topic, so we're also treated to their run-ins with the long arm of the law, The Mandalorian egg-eating scandal, and we get to hear Steve being triggered by Twitter and spoilers...

For this month's Book Club, the boys dip their toes back into the Star Wars universe, and it opens the floodgates. From the Force, to the prequels, to the Sequels, to the Mandalorian, nothing is out of bounds - so if you're not a Star Wars fan, you may want to skip this one!

In between rants about a galaxy far, far away, Steve manages to trigger Rooney (and outs another fetish), and adopts yet another psueudonym. Oh, and there's some discussion about Paul S. Kemp's novel Lords of the Sith too.

This week the boys watched the 90's blockbuster classic Independence Day, and really got in touch with their inner Will Smith fan! But before they could even start talking about the film, they made the mistake of mentioning the current state of the world... and proceeded to rant and rave about the 'rona for about the first 20 minutes, touching on lockdowns and teachers as well - you have been warned...

Then despite technical issues, they also squeezed in some chat about "Victory dances", their own headcannon, and Steve's new favourite thing: "coming up with stuff to make Rooney Sigh".

Trees. Shaky camera work. plaid shirts. Cheesy spooky sound effects. It can only be one thing... the first ever TUTJIG Halloween Special!

The boys chose a thematically appropriate film for the season, and dug through the stones and leaf-mould to get the heart of the genre-defining horror film The Blair Witch Project. But somehow they managed to justify a detour into a (mercifully brief) D&D scenario written by Steve - who has never played D&D. No, it doesnt make sense to us either.

So strap yourselves in for spookiness galore!

Tackling the film that brought to a close the golden age of 80's action heroes, the boys get stuck into the original 1990 version of Total Recall. In a remarkably streamlined episode (barely 2 hours!), they still manage to cover subjects as diverse as political power struggles, Howl's Moving Castle, and the correct way to comfort someone after a nightmare...

Another book club episode, this time on Ernest Cline's amazing Ready Player One. In addition to geeking-out about the book (including detailing their own dream OASIS avatar load-outs - really detailed in Rooney's case) they also managed to discuss discrimination, Ska punk, and whether aliens invented COVID-19 in an attempt to bring humanity together.

What a ride!

Strap yourself in folks, we're in for... a really long episode actually. When it came to James Cameron's awesome sequel Aliens, apparently the boys had lot to say. Like, a lot. Clocking in at over three and a half hours, they manages to cover:

Even by their standards, this one went all over the place!

This week the boys take a look at Zack Snyder's genre-bending (and somewhat divisive) film Sucker Punch. Along the way they question themselves, discuss body clocks and routines, hairstyles, and undertake a really bad rendition of the Fresh Prince of Bel Air theme song...

And to think, they were worried they wouldn't have enough content for a full length episode this time!
