Join us, Amy and Kim as we continue to discuss how Talk Yoga™ supports neurodivergent individuals.  In our last episode we discussed how we have seen autistic individuals benefit from Talk Yoga™ tools and techniques.  Today for our lunch and learn we continue the conversation and share how we have used Talk Yoga with our neurodivergent clients.

Join us, Amy and Kim as we review how the unique approach of Talk Yoga™ brings communication and movement together to allow children to express, play and learn.  We are so grateful to be among the world of yoga for children and appreciate the unique approaches these many programs provide.  With Talk Yoga, we are layering our movement with speech and language to teach children how to make specific speech sounds, how to use new vocabulary, how to expand language, and how to express different feelings or sensations that arise in the body when participating in various movements, flows, and breathing practices.  Additionally, we are helping young children learn to listen to their bodies, to learn when they need to rest, when they need to feel calm, or when they need more energy..  And don’t forget how Talk Yoga™ is a gift to the teacher, therapist, or parent.  These techniques are for you too!  

Join us, Amy and Kim as we discuss how to be present using principles of yoga and methods from the practice of Talk Yoga™. As therapists or teachers, we always have a plan, but often our students have a very different plan!  Amy and Kim share tips about how to stay present, “read the room” and modify lesson plans to meet the needs of their students.  Often, a simple pause followed by a few deep breaths is all you need…followed by a few donkey poses!  Enjoy this conversation and just be!
