With our annual Shinedown Dance event - Denim & Diamonds around the corner, one of our staff members, Fran, wanted to do a giveaway for a weekend pass. One of the rules was you had to say how you started dancing and why.. forgive me I am emotional on this one...

I started doing this because dance is what saved me... not to be the top dog, not to be the best in the business, but to give people a place to let loose regardless of their following, what they identify as, skill level or any of that. That's what matters to me most. 

Misschif's motto is to be a decent effing human, so why wouldn't my events be the same? Enjoy hearing an emotional one.

If there is one thing I’ve always said about myself, is that I’m a walking Murphys law and my trip to Dallas was nothing but proof of that. 

I decided to vlog my trip to my favorite dance event — Forever Country Dance Fest and getting there was a mess! On top of a photographers worst nightmare happening during the event…

Two Marines, two different paths. Both chasing purpose after the uniform.

We sat down with Corey Hill a few months back as he made his way to Tennessee, talking life, faith, and finding a new rhythm after years of service. His story carries that same Marine grit — discipline, heart, and a little bit of soul mixed in.

Today is the 250th birthday of the United States Marine Corps, it felt right to share his journey and honor the men and women who keep pushing forward long after their time in uniform.

Some of my most asked questions are… why Misschif? Where  did the name come from or how did I start doing what I do?

This weeks episode we give a little back story on where it began, how the love of wind therapy inspired the name and saying of “letting the wind take make where it wants,” then dove into where the music side of it all came.

Two Marine Corps veteran worlds collided over the love for music in different forms.

With some new music releasing, new projects coming and more, we sat done with one of favorites to work with, Jason Michael Carroll aka JMC, back in April before his show at the Dusty Armadillo in Roots Town, OH so excuse the quality… we we’re just getting started 😅

You may know his big hits like “Livin’ Our Love Song” or “Alyssa Lies,” but we’re here to showcase what he’s been up to as he’s about to release a new album, since 2019! 

This would make Misschif’s THIRD show/event with Jason, so it only made sense to have him as our first official guest on the “Artist You Should Know” segment with this journey.

Cop turned country singer? Say whaaaat?!

Back in April, Gage & I sat down after we had the opportunity to capture some photos and videos for him at The Shed in Maryville, TN and love watching journey! 

We met at a writers round last year and I’ve had the privilege to follow his exciting journey since! So what's story? He decided one day, after EIGHT YEARS in law enforcement, that enough was enough and pursed music full time.
