Alright people! Another day, another episode! And this time, another Star Wars property, and we always know we've got magic on our hands when we talk about this fabled property. But this time, we're diving back into niche territory, as we're talking about the premiere of the final season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars! The animated property that reignited my love of Star Wars back in the late 2000's, and just reignited Chris' love for it this year! We've got a doozy of a good episode for what I think is gonna be a doozy of a great season, so sit back, relax and enjoy the latest episode here on Talkin' TV!

What's up guys! Another day, another episode. I've been fond of saying that this week, I'm not entirely sure why. But boy, do we have a doozie of an episode for ya! Not going to lie, this February has been a little slow, a little dull, a little less filled with vigor than previous ones. Harley Quinn tried to fill that superhero sized hole in all our hearts that Deadpool & Black Panther gave us there, it accomplished maybe half that feeling. But now, we're getting back to the extremely bad. A movie that is so terrible, you'll be wondering whether you're watching a CW soap opera, or something entirely different. This is not just Fantasy Island (don't wanna confuse intellectual properties here). This is...BLUMHOUSE'S Fantasy Island! Enjoy!

Hey! So what do you know! A huge movie studio actually listened to us! And no, this is not a joke, the studio is actually retitling the movie as Harley Quinn & the Birds of Prey. Because that's what the movie is. It's not a spoiler, get over it. Anyways, the TV & Movie Nerds are back, and they pulled out another guest out of the cracks of their asses, as they always do, and they're talking about Birds of Prey! Or is it Harley Quinn? I can't really decide because the studio can't really decide! On Talkin' TV!

What's up everybody! We're back from our one week sick hiatus. Gonna try and keep it down to at least one week a year, but no promises. So we're still attempting to catch up on all our movies for our top 10 list, but for right now, just sit back, relax, and enjoy a little discussion about a little studio that had a very big impact on our lives and that of movies these past 8 years. This is our discussion on the A24 movies of 2019.

Welcome back everybody! New year, new decade, new rules! And to kick off the new decade, we decided to do what everyone else did...talk about the last decade! Because nothing says trying to move forward than talking about shit from the past! Na, in all seriousness, we're back to continue to dissect Hollywood's slow crumble into irrelevance, and we have help this time! Chris takes a backseat as the Movie Nerd sits down with two of his colleagues from the great white north in order to break down the ultimate...BEST...MOVIES...OF...THE...LAST...DECADE!!!!

And just like that...he's gone. Welcome one and all, to the final episode of Talkin' TV that will have been aired in 2019! On the final episode, in which we both air our own respective grievances against how Disney has gained control of the industry, The Movie Nerd & the soon to be nicknamed Chris talk about the final season, and by default, the entire first season of the first ever live Action Star Wars series. We had a lot of fun these last couple months getting this thing off the ground (finally), and having a lot of fun just talking. Hopefully, you guys will be there with us to bring in the new year with season 2! But for now, tune in, and listen to a couple of nerds talking on Talkin' TV.

Merry Christmas everyone! So in honor of the Christmas spirit, here's a little story: 34 years ago, Alan Moore & Dave Gibbons create arguably the magnum opus of the comic book/graphic novel genre. It's widely praised but when it comes time for the comic to be adapted, it goes through development hell and is considered widely unfilmable. To add insult to injury, Alan Moore goes crazy and considers comic book writing "sacred" and that any attempted adaptations of his work would be considered an abomination of man. Furthermore, he goes on to state that any comic book writer who creates anything derivative is a useless hack who contributes nothing to the genre. Even tho he himself made his name for publishing derivate works of other, more widely known characters.

Fast forward 20+ years and Zach Snyder's adaptation of the comics is released in theaters in March of 2009. It receives mixed reviews, but the things that are undeniable about the film are thus: Snyder truly does do a pitch-perfect adaptation in every sense of the dictionary definition, as the film is, for the most part, a shot for shot, panel for panel straight adaptation of the comic with one of the most visually interesting aesthetics of any film, with two major differences: one, the infamous changed ending in which the manner through which Ozymandias enacts his final plan is changed significantly, and two, how he presents the heroes as more so cinematically embittered antiheroes with plenty of flash and matrix-like fight techniques, for the purposes of revere rather than deconstruction. The second point I feel is the larger criticism that stands out because it ultimately goes against the theme of the comic and ends up creating a severe clash of tones. As for changing the ending, that one I'm chalking up to dumb luck because there's no way Snyder is smart enough to think of an ending that's better, makes more sense by every definition and in a way makes the flaws of the comic almost passable on his own.

Then comes Damon Lindelof, who's made a name for himself for having created two of the most widely known and critically praised shows of the last two decades. Having been offered the opportunity twice before to adapt Watchmen, he finally accepts the third time knowing he probably won't get a shot like this again. It's been 34 years since the comic, 10 years since the movie, and the time is ripe. So he does it. And now Chris & I are here to review it. Merry Christmas to all, this is...HBO's Watchmen. Enjoy.
