In January of 2021 we lost one of the most beloved artists in our community: Leo James Kirk; James Kirk. He leaves behind his daughters Linda and Nancy and his wife of some 47 years, Alice. And he leaves us behind as well, the artists of the mid-Willamette Valley who have come to know him as watercolorist, teacher, mentor and friend. He was 95 years of age and come this July 17th he would have been 96.

I interview this year's chosen author Eric O' Grey who wrote Walking with Peety. Plus I interview the artists of Salem Reads.

Happy Halloween! I've posted three images that relate to this morning's opening about Dracula creator, Bram Stoker. Today I'm also re-airing the broadcast where my guests were writer Diane Forsberg and poet Steve Slemenda. We chatted about the tri-part collaboration to develop and publish Dinae's third and final book in the Never Solitary series.

Today's broadcast is all about the McMinnville Short Film Festival. They're having a fundraiser for this year's festival and it will be October 16-17-18. So I am re-airing the show I did with the organizers of the festival, one of their contributing directors and actor.

On today's show, I re-broadcast one of the Focus on Galleries series, this one featuring artist/partner Ann Durley with The River Gallery in Independence. I also announce several gallery events, give a "shout out" two award-winning artistic siblings and I highlight the recent fire disasters by suggesting CERT training via the City of Salem.
