0830-0900 - Introducing Joel Zak, the new host for Talking About Art. Joel is a talented photographer and a tireless advocate of the Fine Arts in Salem and the mid Willamette Valley. Phil Krug continues as the Production Manager as I (Eric Wuest) return to my painting studio. I know the shows this team come up with will be exceptional! On October 24 I look forward to listening to Joel's first solo show while I work in my painting studio. I hope you will be listening too!

September 26 from 0830-0900am on KMUZ 88.5 FM Talking About Art. Our guest was George D Green. He was recently invited by Lucinda Parker to show work at the Laura Russo Gallery with 3 other artists. His work as an artist spans 60 years and several continents. Showing you pictures of his work is ,as he said, "like a ventriloquist on the radio." Those pictures in the background are completely flat surfaces! Frame, seascape and overlay are all trompe de l'oiel (fool the eye) and he is a master of the technique. The interview was recorded at his home in Oregon City.

Talking About Art - KMUZ 88.5FM or on-line at KMUZ.org interviewed painter and print maker Jon Colburn. Jon was Artist-in-residence at Salem Art Association. The show of his work from the last 6 months will open May 9th. Jon Colburn will exhibit his recent series of hand-pulled prints, which were completed during an artist residency in SAA’s Annex Studio at the Bush Barn Art Center. His work will be on view in the Focus Gallery. The artist will give a talk on Tuesday, June 3, at 10 am during which he’ll discuss the printmaking process and how it has influenced his artistic lexicon. Listen to our conversation to hear the artist talking about his work and how he hopes to make the world a little better place by selling his prints.
