Melanie Katsalidis is the director of 'Pieces of Eight', a contemporary jewellery and small object gallery in Melbourne showing the work of over thirty local and international artists. Melanie was originally trained in Art at the University of Melbourne and went on to do a gold and silversmiths course at RMIT University.
In this week's Talking Design with Stephen Crafti, Melanie speaks about why she choose to pursue contemporary jewellery.
My jewellery is about finding beauty in pure geometry and form. I enjoy reducing forms to their essence and finding the elegance in this.
