Brian Nitto of 55 Productions has spent the last 10 years capturing racing images of some of the best riders in the world. He just returned from shooting the Isle of Man TT and declares it an almost life changing experience. The glamor, the excitement, the danger and the professionalism of the event made an indelible mark on Brian and he joins us to discuss everything he learned and experience on the tiny island.

 

Sasha Valentine of CaferacerXXX is joining us to discuss the every growing cafe scene. She has worked tirelessly to put together a ride to the Hagerstown, Maryland round of the AMA Pro Grand National Series. Sasha is from the DC area, knows all the great roads and road side attractions. We are very excited to have this vibrant motorcyclist on the program.

Bryan Smith rode the Howerton Motorsports Crosley Kawasaki to a Gold Medal. We get his opinion on the race track and... what's the deal with Kid Rock!  

 

Scottie Deubler was the Color Analyst for ESPN for what was easily his biggest event in his career. How did it go for him? Scottie and I will discuss the race and how it will impact AMA Pro Flat Track as we move forward.

Melissa Paris is an extremely talented American motorcycle road racer. Her career continues to move forward largely due to her quest for success. Among other accomplishments, Melissa was the first female to ever compete in World Supersport competition. Now she sets her sights on her return to the MotoAmerica Series in the USA! She is off to a great start on the 2015 season.

Amanda Campbell has been around Hillclimbing her entire life. At the age of three she started racing in hillclimbs. She finished second in the amateur National Championships in the 125cc Class in 2002 and won the Women's Class in 2010. In 2009 she joined her husband in the AMA Pro Hillclimb Series in the Pro Sport Class on her CRF450. She became the first female to podium in the pro ranks with a second place finish her first race. Her career accomplishments were two second places in her first season and two third places in her second season. In 2012, she dedicated her efforts to the series by becoming involved in every aspect of the sport, from official duties to managing the Series and events to social media to marketing and to promoting the sport and the Series. 

Vinny Nuzzolilli, out of Monson, Massachussetts, started racing 1998 at the age of 4. He joined the AMA Pro Hillclimb Series in 2010 at the age of 16. He has accomplished 21 top 3, including 8 career wins. He has won two Unlimited ClassNational Championships, in 2012 and 2014. He suffered a severe leg fracture in the next to last round in 2013 that put him out of contention for the Championship. As reigning Champion he looks to add to his resume of wins and podiums and go after a third Unlimited Class Championship in 2015. He competes in both the Xtreme Class and Unlimited Class on a CBR 636 and CBR 970 fueled by nitromethane.

Talking Motorcycles proudly presents another episode as a part of our AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Series. 

David Aldana, 1999 Hall of Fame inductee, became famous early in his career for his "all or nothing" mentality as a professional motorcycle racer. He was a rookie expert in AMA Grand National competition in 1970. He went on to place 3rd in the Championship winning three Grand Nationals along the way. In total, David won 4 Grand Nationals in his flat track career. He competed in nearly every form of motorcycle racing including motocross and road racing. During his road racing career he was a factory rider for Suzuki, Kawasaki and Honda. In 1981 he teamed up with Mike Baldwin to win the SUZUKA 8 HourEndurance Race in front of 10's of thousands of fans. Suzuka was at that time, one of the most prestigious road races in the world and the one race everyone wanted to win. Known for his black leathers with the white skeleton outline in the front, Aldana was and continues to be a fan favorite world wide.

Brian Slark, 2012 Hall of Fame inductee, was one of the people who gets credit for the creation of motocross in America. He was at one time the importer of the Rickman Metisse. Brian assisted Hall of Famer, Dave Mungenast in the creation of a vintage motorcycle museum in St. Louis. He then helped create the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum in Leeds, Alabama. Today Barber is considered the premier vintage motorcycle museum in the world and Brian oversees the restoration work in their shop as Technical Director. If you have a Clymer Service Manual published from 1971 through 1984, the teardown work was likely performed by Brian Slark.

Both of the legendary men will be on hand at the 16th annual Riding Into History event this weekend!

MotoAmerica puts on their first event at the Virginia International Raceway this weekend and we have three key guests tonight who will talk about racing and what goes on behind the scenes at the event.

Danny Eslick is a two-time winner of the Daytona 200 and holds three AMA Pro Road Racing championship titles. This talented and fast pro has been forced to sit out the first two MotoAmerica rounds in 2015! He joins us tonight to talk about his new ride with the Turbo Turtle Racing Team riding their CBR1000RR's starting at Virginia International Raceway this weekend!  

Kaleb De Keyrel is about to have a new teammate coming into the VIR round. We hear from this talented young pro racer about that, his view on his career to date, and what his goals are for the balance of the season. The family-owned team is moving forward!

Paul Carruthers is the Communication Manager for MotoAmerica and joins us to discuss their season so far. With two rounds behind them, we take a look at the refinements they are making along the way. Paul will clue us in on MotoAmerica's big plans for this weekend's Virginia International Raceway event that includes lots of fan-friendly entertainment.

Bill Robinson joins us with all the important details of this years Riding Into History vintage motorcycle show in St. Augustine, Florida!

World motorcycle traveler Clement Salvadori returns with another great road book. This time, he brings enthusiasts 30 stories covering 50 years of travel by motorcycle to odd spots around the planet. Readers can follow him through war-torn Vietnam to the sybaritic pleasures of camping out in a South African wilderness area, from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe, from 1957 to 2010.

While the motorcycle is always at the heart of these stories, far more important are Salvadori's impressions of the countries he rides through and the people he meets along the way. He artfully injects history, sociology, politics, and economics into the mix, and comes up with fresh and vivid descriptions of the many places he has been. Daytona Beach, FL (April 28, 2015) - Troy Bayliss won three World Superbike Championships on a Ducati. In 152 starts, the Australian had 94 podium finishes and 52 race victories. In 2006, as a substitute rider in place of the injured Sete Gibernau, he brought Ducati a MotoGP win at Valencia.

 

Retirement means different things to different people. For Bayliss it meant establishing Troy Bayliss Events and promoting a variety of major events including the wildly successful Troy Bayliss Classic in his home country. This year, over 8,000 people were treated to world class flat track racing featuring Grand National riders from the USA.

 

The 46-year-old Bayliss will be competing in five AMA Pro Flat Track Mile races in 2015 on the Lloyd Brothers Ducati and we look forward to hearing his thoughts in this special edition of Talking Motorcycles with Barry Boone.  

 

Nathon Verdugo, Public Relations Manager at Ducati North America, will join us to explain the factories involvement and what it took behind the scenes to bring this together.  

 

Johnny Lewis, National #10, will be Troy's teammate on a Ducati for Lloyd Brothers Motorsports and we look forward to having Johnny on the show! JL10 is quietly building a franchise in the racing world and we will discuss his latest projects and his thoughts about riding the Ducati and being a teammate to the three time World Superbike Champion.
