Les and Hugh are back to break down a busy week in wrestling coverage. We kick things off with the WWE draft from Tuesday’s LIVE SmackDown show, including a Good, Better, Bust look at who offered the best coverage, and who failed to even show up to the discussion!

Bryan Alvarez and Vinny Verhei defend why they didn’t expect anyone to care about draft coverage, despite most of the reputable wrestling coverage sites having post-game reports (many of them free) the same night as the draft!

John Pollock and Wai Ting win best of the week’s coverage for their SmackDown post-show for breaking down not only the live WWE show, but also the second screen experience on the WWE Network.

We talk Hot Takes vs Developed Stories, Dave Meltzer’s breakdown of roster depth, as well as PW Torch audio analyst Todd Martin’s take on the depth topic.

The ratings were a big topic for the week, and despite SmackDown Live posting a 40% increase week over week in ratings, Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer and PW Torch’s Todd Martin both expected higher… we wonder why.

The gang is back this week to talk all of the reactions to WWE announcing that Brock Lesnar’s SummerSlam opponent will be Randy Orton despite the fact that the WWE Superstar is injury prone in such a way that would make people question why they would send him to “Suplex City.” Still, other pundits, like the Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer wonders why anyone is even talking about or analyzing this match because, until Brock gets through his match with Mark Hunt at UFC 200, there is no reason to even wonder who is fighting who…

We unpack all the reactions to TNA Impact’s Final Deletion segment between Broken Matt Hardy and Brother Nero, Jeff Hardy, including the pros and cons of the match. While the first reactions to this story were overwhelmingly positive, a few days after its debut, PW Torch Sr. Columnist Bruce Mitchell, as well as Voices of Wrestling hosts Joe Lanza and Rich Kraestch came out on the negative side of the segment.

We talk the latest on the upcoming WWE Roster Split, including a clip from this week’s Court Bauer and John Pollock show wherein Pollock articulates Hugh Little’s worst nightmare — but wait?! Has Hugh had a reversal of his thinking on what WWE could mean for the indies compared to his past stance?

Dave Meltzer has updates on comings and goings we talked about last week, including what the future holds for Ricochet, Moose, Kurt Angle and more.

The Cruiserweight Classic kicks off next week with Bracketology — we look at the upcoming tournament and talk about the exciting possibilities, plus run down the news from Dave Meltzer without spoiling the tournament!

Stephanie McMahon’s recent Business Insider interview has been severely mischaracterized by many in wrestling media, including Dave Meltzer and John Pollock, who have either missed the context of the interview being in a business trade journal, and outright misrepresent what she said about UFC stars losing.

Sealia runs down her week in wrestling coverage and viewing, including her reviews and recaps of two matches from the WWE 100 Greatest Matches book she received last weekend!

Finally, Les Moore caps off the show with a news read of some of the other stories making the rounds as of the weekend, including the mysterious Roman Reigns Locker Room Apology, the Cody Rhodes Excursion Theory, and the Bobby the Brain Heenan twitter account being outed as a fake!

WE HAVE an out of the ordinary edition of the Mid-Week show…

First, Les spends 20 minutes or so breaking down the news of the week so far, including conversation around what it means that WWE has renamed their main title back to WWE Championship, dropping the “World Heavyweight” from the name. Michael Cole’s assertion that heading up the differing brands would be individual Chief Operating Officers. Roman Reigns’ suspension being brought up on Raw despite Bryan Alvarez and Mike Sempervive spending nearly an hour lambasting WWE for not mentioning the suspension…

We look at the hope and hype surrounding fan exception that Finn Balor would debut on WWE Raw against the Miz, only to be disappointed when it turned out to be Kane facing off against the IC champion — and what it says about Bryan Alvarez, who scolded fans for believing in the hype, despite himself feeding into the Balor debut hype for months!

We look at Rob McCarron’s brief interview with EVOLVE’s Gabe Sapolsky and how Gabe took liberties with one of Rob’s questions…
