Nicola Toki was the face of the Department of Conservation’s Wildlife Advocate and held other technical roles within DOC for a long time before becoming the CEO of Forest & Bird in 2022. In this episode, we revisit the Te Ara Taiao programme and highlight how the Māori Environment Education programme is supporting schools, teachers and tamariki in incorporating indigenous knowledge confidently in the classroom. Te Ara Taiao is not just about releasing kiwis, but much more. Jane Bowden-Dobson tells us about their current and future projects.
