In this episode we speak to Jonathan Bifield. Jonathan is an EAL Coordinator at a large secondary school in Leicester in the East Midlands. He has over twenty years teaching experience both in England and in Thailand. He has worked as an English language teacher, IELTS examiner, EAL / SEND Coordinator and EAL specialist. In the UK, he has worked at a University on pre sessional courses and have also been involved in training teachers from China. He writes a column for the EAL journal from NALDIC. He also has his own website EAL Daylight.

Episode One with Dr Sabine Little:

In this episode we speak to Dr Sabine Little. Sabine Little is a Lecturer in Languages Education at the University of Sheffield, focusing on the relationships between language, identity, and belonging. With research taking place in families, schools, and the wider community, she is particularly interested in improving the ways in which children's multilingual identities are valued and recognised at formal education and societal level. Her work on Sheffield's multilingual children's library won the international Brenda Eastwood Award for Diversity and Inclusion. Her current project, Lost Wor(l)ds (www.multilingualism-in-schools.net) aims to give teachers the tools to support multilingual pupils holistically in the classroom.
