Talking Youth is so excited to present its first guest for the Inspire You Series; a selection of episodes created to inspire YOU guys, interviewing some seriously epic and influential young people.
Ben Considine is a bloody superstar.
He started surfing at age 8 and now, as a 24-year-old, has an internationally established name in the field of longboard surfing.
Having been ranked 4th in the world, Ben has learnt, sometimes the hard way, what it means to stick to a goal and aim high, all while juggle travelling the world, competing, and being a teenager.
Ben is now a 4th-year physiotherapy student and founder of Ben and Lee Considine Longboard Coaching.
Oh yeah, he also has an epic YouTube channel called TheSundayGlide.
Throughout this conversation, Ben shares what his journey has looked like and HOW he has overcome the down talk in his head, to support him in continuing to reach high and achieve his dreams.
Ben's honest, relatable and relaxed. There are so many pearls in this conversation. You'll love it!
Let us know what you think and how Ben's insight has supported your own journey.

I have been bursting with excitement to release this amazing conversation.
Lewis Taranto and Kyle Jdali, two Geelong-born 18-year-olds, are the founders of Atman, a mental health brand created to reach as many young people as possible and open up channels of conversation about mental health and life as a youth.
Through their podcast endeavours, live talks, fundraisers and the like, these guys have brought humour, lightness and a conscious and insightful vibe to what is often a heavy and taboo conversation.
Although Atman has remained quiet of late (through their own accord and choice). the Talking Youth podcast was so honoured to bring these two lads together to do what they do best: CHAT!
You will learn how their experiences of high school and being teenagers have unfolded very differently, yet they both have this uncanny ability to finish each others' sentences and dart to and fro like pros!
I didn't want this chat to end ... and you won't either!
We talk about high school, mental health, being separate from our ego, life lessons and so much more!
Please note, there may be some triggering mental health disclosures throughout, so please avoid listening if you are feeling vulnerable or fragile and please seek support.
Enjoy this episode, gang, and as always, if it resonates and you feel MORE folk should have access to it, please share it, subscribe and, better yet, leave us a review!
Have you heard about our upcoming online event? The one that Atman will feature in a LIVE interview for?

Sammy Wilson is a rockstar!! Not only is she cool, calm and collected, she is purposeful in her actions and has created something to support SO many people in our nation.
Sammy is the founder of Sober Mates, a community, an educational platform and a place to go where you can explore your drinking habits. It was created for those people that want to cut down, learn more about their drinking habits and find all the information in one place with no judgement from others.
What started as Sammy's 3-month commitment to sobriety has now become her new way of life. Sammy realised that her drinking had become a problem and during this time of exploration has not only learnt so much about herself and her lifestyle habits but has been able to access SO much more of herself, now not leading a life that relies heavily on socialising with alcohol!
In this conversation, we explore the strong correlation between mental well-being and alcohol and Sammy gives us some super humbling information about the impacts of our drinking choices.
A must listen for EVERYONE, even purely to educate yourself.
I loved this chat. No doubt you will, too!

This episode is quite the special one and is landing at a very opportunistic time.
This month of May, 2021, is Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Month and in this episode I have the most incredible conversation with South Australia's 2020 local hero Emmah Money. Emma was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis as a newborn and her biological parents were told she would barely survive childhood and subsequently put her up for adoption. Now, 32 years later, this inspiring woman has defied all odds and has a list of achievements under her belt, including motherhood, which so many professionals advised her against. Emma has fought long and hard to get the critical CF drug Orkambi on the Australian PBS list and at age 17 wrote and published her own book titled "The Words Inside," which speaks of her struggles with bullying and depression growing up. Emma is the founder of CF Mummy and devoted to supporting those with CF who want to have children. The list is endless, and during this conversation we unfold, unravel and explore the journey of this warrior and the impact she is making on so many lives. You can learn more about what Emmah does and how she can support your next event, school or workshop:This podcast is a representation of just how bloody awesome young people are!!
Sophie Boyce is an 18-year-old Melbournian, who has moved to Canberra on campus at ANU to study International Relations.
A leader from way back, Sophie noticed she thrived in environments where she could apply her leadership skills and confidence. After attending a global Young Leaders conference in America, she realised she could make her interest in politics and leadership a career path.
Now immersed in study and the reality of politics, Sophie has come to the hard realisation that women continue to be underrepresented in this forum and has often felt like her dreams have been pulled from underneath her.
As this conversation unfolds, you will learn first-hand what determination, commitment and purpose sound like.
Sophie is a force to be reckoned with.
Her insight and maturity is way beyond her years and I am so excited to share this young woman with the world.

Season 2 has landed, folks, and we kick off with one incredible young human!
Jamey Reihana is a freshly graduated 18-year-old, living in sunny Queensland.
She chose to steer away from the conventional study after school theory, and instead has signed on with an agent to pursue an acting career.
What makes Jamey's story so interesting is that although she is embarking on such a brave journey of the unknown in such a transient industry, mental health has been a big struggle for her. It stemmed from early on in high school and it was only recently that she was given a formal diagnosis.
This conversation is honest, raw and beautiful.
In a clear yet playful way, Jamey dissects the role Mental Health has played in her life and shares with us the tools she has acquired to support herself and her well-being so that it doesn't consume her entire world.
Jamey has found the courage to pursue the things in her life that matter most and wants everyone she has a connection with to enjoy this also.
