Alexi is a Greek-American Olympic athlete, writer, actress, and filmmaker. Her memoir-in-essays, Bravey: Chasing Dreams, Befriending Pain, and Other Big Ideas, came out January 2021. Its adaptation as a children’s book, Bravey, was released, August 22nd. John is a mechanical engineer and has spent his entire career in the electric utility industry. During his leisure time, John works on his golf game, spends time with friends and family, attends San Francisco Giants games and other cultural events such as the symphony.

Christopher spent nearly 20 years as one-half of the wildly popular Mike and the Mad Dog before joining Sirius XM to headline his all-sports talk channel Mad Dog Sports Radio. Chris hosts High Heat on MLB network and frequently appears on ESPN's First Take. He was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame in 2022. Kiera is a bookseller, entrepreneur, and writer. A graduate of the University of Notre Dame , she writes short stories, essays, and poems on her Substack, A Penny For My Thoughts and is currently working on her debut novel.

Alicia is a dancer from Morgantown, West Virginia who began her professional career with the Suzanne Farrell Ballet and performed with the Dance Theatre of Harlem where she worked with Alicia Keys, Aretha Franklin, and Gladys Knight. She has shot music videos, was on the cover of PEOPLE Magazine Winter/Spring 2023 Health Edition, served as a co-chairwoman of the School of American Ballet’s Visiting Faculty program and was a contestant on The Bachelor. Kenny is a husband, friend and avid fisherman who loves his family and friends dearly. A retired Director of Public Works for the city of Morgantown, he now spends the majority of the time doing what he loves most. You guessed it…fishing.

Zara graduated Exeter University with a degree in English, ran Fever-Tree events in the UK, worked as the Events Director for the US Ambassador in London, was a personal trainer and surf instructor and is now a LinkedIn specialist and firefighter. Jan's military career led him to operational action in Iraq, Northern Ireland and Cyprus. His business career took him to the far reaches of the globe working for defense and technology companies in Oman and a tea buying and exporting organization in Kenya. His interests range from rugby to renovating classic cars and, in 2025, he’ll be ordained as a Deacon.

Brooke was diagnosed with ALS in March 2022 after four years of confusing symptoms in her leg. She hopes to spread awareness of ALS to as many people as possible and laugh along the way. Cliff is a semi-retired civil engineer and worked on large rail and subway projects. He played college football and baseball. Now, he gives Brooke a helping hand whenever she needs it.
We first sat down with daughter and dad, Brooke and Cliff, a year ago and recently caught up with them again to see what has changed over the last 12 months, what’s remained the same and to forecast what the future holds.

David's Emmy Award-winning music has reached and touched the lives of millions of people. His best-known song, “One Shining Moment”, has been an NCAA and CBS Sports staple for more than 30 years and has been sung by Grammy award winners Luther Vandross, Jennifer Hudson, and Teddy Pendergrass. Esther is a married mother of two young boys living in Metro Detroit, she’s an Account Executive for Cisco. She loves being close to family, all her native Michigan has to offer, football Saturdays in the fall and cheering on basketball all winter long. Claire lives outside Washington, D.C. with her husband and baby girl. With a Master's Degree in the History of War from King's College, London, she works as the military historian for Military Times. Esther is a World War II researcher and, like her sister, craves Michigan football.
