Chesed is an adult third culture kid who grew up in Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia. For the last 12 years she has been living in Virginia training college students how to navigate cross-cultural transitions in an emotionally healthy way. She is passionate about coaching emerging adults in that process and showing them how this world was never meant to be their home anyway (Philippians 3:20).

Cassidy Lewis is a self-published author who writes and designs children's books for families who live far apart. Since bidding farewell to family and friends in Scotland and moving halfway across the world to Australia in 2019, she knows firsthand the challenge of living abroad and raising a family far from your home country. Welcoming her daughter Madison in 2022, more than ever Cassidy wanted to bridge the miles between her little one and family overseas. That's how "Children's Books To Bond Over" came to be - a growing collection of vibrant, engaging and educational children's books especially designed to nurture familial bonds and help little one's feel more closely connected to their roots and heritage. What started as an idea her mother (and co-founder) Laura had - a meaningful keepsake a grandparent could gift their grandchild - became a growing enterprise that resonated with an underserved community: long-distance families across the world. Suddenly, "Children's Books To Bond Over" had purpose beyond her own family, and it became Cassidy and Laura's mission to create a book for every country in the world so no loving family member, no matter the distance, had to forgo the special bonding moment that is reading time.

On this podcast Anna Danforth, author of 2 TCK books, joins us to discuss healthy risk taking in her TCK up bringing and how that affected her as an adult.

Anna Danforth grew up in Cameroon as a third culture kid where she developed a passion to help global families thrive overseas. She married her high school sweetheart from DR Congo and they raised their two kids in Lesotho and on a farm in South Africa.  Anna drew on her experiences as a third culture kid, missionary, and teacher at the Africa Orientation Course to write Raising a Family Overseas.  She also provides training on Ethical Image Sharing as a Global Citizen.  Anna lives on a fruit tree and macadamia farm in KwaZulu Natal with her husband, two kids, dogs, cats, horse, and best friends.
