Thank you for joining us to listen into this audio documentary of my father Mr. Philip Slack Sr. This is the audio pulled from the documentary film titled “WALK WITH ME”. My father Philip Matthew Slack Sr was an anointed Gospel saxophonist who played in the church all his life. He was an inspiration to many people including myself. I witnessed my father display a relationship with God as he lead my family through good and bad times. While creating this film my father passed away and left a true legacy for me and my family to always remember him. I spoke with my dad before I got on a flight from Paris, France and his words were “You know you can talk to God anytime... morning, noon and at night”. He also said to me “even though God has all these people to see about he still gonna make time for little ole you”. Well my flight got into New Orleans the night of January 2, 2009 my Father was up waiting for me to come to the house but I had fell asleep at my sisters house and woke up to a phone call January 3 to learn of his death. Even though my dad is gone he never spoke death during his life. My dad lived as long as God wanted him to live he lived life as a true man of God who always said...”I’m not walking by myself God is walking with me”. He was a true leader who loved his family and pushed pass his sickness to give everyone his testimony of life and healing. My dad is resting well and I know this down in my heart. I'm excited to introduce to our listeners a local known Pastor had been rendering service to the local community in the lower 9th ward for almost 40 years of his life. His ministry has changed the lives of hundreds of men and women who sought help through the ADAM program. The Alcohol Drug Abuse Ministry known as ADAM started with a group of recovered addicts who came together in one of New Orleans most drug infested areas to help change lives. My grandmother who is now celebrating 100 years of life connected me with this wonderful most talented woman of grace Aleane Fitzcarter. Aleane lives in Los Angeles and still today she is performing and playing the piano at the wonderful age of 93 years old.
