Vondria became pregnant at just 14 years old and was forced to marry by age 15. Growing up fast with no knowledge of motherhood was a struggle that eventually introduced her into a lifestyle of drug and alcohol abuse. Through it all Vondria managed to develop a relationship with God as she gained a prayer life. Her mission is to always share her story with young teens in hopes of helping them make wise choices as they grow up. Being a teen mom and a wife took so much of her young life away to early burdens and a high level of responsibilities.

Joe Caruso grew up in a New Orleans musical family. The legendary Club Desire, just across the street from Joe’s house, was where he first learned the sounds of Blues and Rhythm and Blues. In the Summer of ’69 Joe received his draft notice and spent a year in the tropical paradise of Viet Nam. Later, Joe moved to Oakland in 1984 and had many successful years playing there until he moved back home to New Orleans in 1992.

In September of 2005, Joe left New Orleans with his elderly mother on a Friday to play a gig with Al "Little Fats" Jackson at the Grand Casino in Kinder, Louisiana, located in the northwest part of the state. While there, Joe received a telephone call from a friend in New Orleans warning him not to come back home because a storm was approaching. Joe didn't know then that this storm would become the very powerful Hurricane Katrina and that everything he owned would be lost except for his love of his family and the Blues.

Joe moved his Mom to his sister’s house in Deltona, Florida, to keep his family together and safe. Always a “Survivor,” Joe has created this collection of his songs for your enjoyment and wishes to dedicate it in memory of his Mother, Verdadelle Adams, born in 1928, who passed away during the making of this recording.

For over 30 years she dedicated her career to educating and enriching the lives of so many kids. Her leadership in the classroom has touched many kids as well as myself at the age of 9 years old. There are many untold stories from the teachers desk to the kids homework and even the home life of the children. Dandy was always passionate about the students one brave action actually caused her to lose her job. After losing her job in the city of New Orleans she found herself and her family to be homeless as a new regime took over the school system hiring teachers from all across America other than the local teachers in the city. This experience is told from her own perspective as she battle through the ups and downs of the administration rules. Please stay connected to this series as we learn more about how much the system changes made a lasting impact on both the students and the teachers.
