Tallahassee Golf Course Sale Sparks Outrage Over Enslaved Graves
Tallahassee residents are demanding city officials halt the sale of a golf course built atop the graves of enslaved people. Archaeologists confirmed 23 graves and 14 possible burial sites on the property. The city has leased the land for $1 a year since 1956, and now plans to sell it for $1.25 million — without fulfilling its promise of a memorial.
