This is part one of the series “My people, my people...”. The intent of this series, is to educate those who are open to learning so that we can move forward in unity.
“Blue lives matter” is often one of the rebuttals to “black lives matter”, but what exactly is a “blue life”? I will be discussing this, and giving some insight into WHY this is hurtful and offensive when people are speaking up about police brutality.
RIP to James Scurlock, a young man who was killed this past weekend by a known racist/homophobic man named Jake Gardner, while James was protesting the murder of George Floyd.
As I talk about his murder, I touch on the fact that, in most cases, people of color are not given the privilege of getting “the benefit of the doubt” as Jake Gardner was. At the time of this recording, no charges have been brought against him. The case is continuing to unfold, and updates can be found on the show’s Facebook page (link is below).
Thanks so much for tuning in! The love and support y’all have been showing is definitely appreciated!
