NVS-2 ISRO rocket:
The **NVS-2** (Navigation with Indian Constellation-2) is the second satellite in the NVS series launched by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). It was successfully launched aboard the **GSLV-F15** rocket from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) in Sriharikota on January 29, 2025. This mission marked ISRO's 100th launch from Sriharikota](https://www.isro.gov.in/GSLV-F15_NVS-02_Mission.html).
NVS-2 is designed to enhance India's regional navigation capabilities as part of the NavIC (Navigation with Indian Constellation) system. It carries navigation payloads in L1, L5, and S bands, as well as a ranging payload in C-band. The satellite has a lift-off mass of 2250 kg and a power handling capacity of approximately 3 kW. It was intended to replace IRNSS-1E at the orbital slot of 111.75° East.
Unfortunately, after the launch, the satellite encountered a fuel system failure, preventing it from reaching its designated orbital slot. Despite this setback, the satellite systems are healthy, and ISRO is exploring alternative mission strategies to utilize NVS-2 for navigation in its current elliptical orbit](https://www.isro.gov.in/GSLV-F15_NVS-02_Mission.html).
