CROWD SAFETY GUIDELINES#TAMILPODCAST IN CUDDALORE#VOICEOVER#BE SAFE#CREATER#SARAVANANARUNACHALAMCrowd safety guidelines focus on planning (risk assessment, clear exits, emergency plans) and behavior (stay aware, dress smart, move with the flow, protect breathing space) to prevent panic and injury in large gatherings. Key actions include identifying exits, having a meeting spot, wearing sturdy shoes, avoiding barriers, and if caught in a dense crowd, moving diagonally, protecting your chest to breathe, and staying upright to avoid crushing injuries. Utterly Bizarre” – Scientists Discover Another New Species of Dinosaur on Isle of Wight.#CREATER#saravananarunachalam#voiceover#podcaster#tamilpodcast in cuddalore#sciencenews
The discovery of a new species marks the second hypsilophodont family member identified on the Isle of Wight, indicating that Europe hosted a unique group of small herbivorous dinosaurs, distinct from those in Asia and North America.
Researchers have unveiled the discovery of a new species of small plant-eating dinosaur on the Isle of Wight in southern England (UK). on the Isle of Wight, located in southern England. Named Vectidromeus insularis, this species represents the second finding from the hypsilophodont family on the island. This suggests that Europe had its own family of small herbivorous dinosaurs, distinct from those found in Asia and North America.
Hypsilophodonts were a group of nimble, bipedal herbivores that lived around 125 million years ago. The animals lived alongside early tyrannosaurs, spinosaurs, and Iguanodon. The new fossil represents an animal about the size of a chicken but was a juvenile and may have grown much larger.
Vectidromeus is a close relative of Hypsilophodon foxii, a dinosaur originally described in the Victorian era, and one of the first dinosaurs to be described from relatively complete remains. Small and with gracile, with bird-like hindlimbs, hypsilophodonts were used by famous scientist Thomas Henry Huxley as evidence that birds were related to dinosaurs.
Hypsilophodon is also found on the Isle of Wight but was found higher up in the rocks, perhaps two or three million years younger than Vectidromeus. Vectidromeus differs in details of the hip bones, suggesting it’s a closely related but distinct species.
Dr Nicholas Longrich, from the Milner Centre for Evolution at the University of Bath, led the study. He said: “Paleontologists have been working on the Isle of Wight for more than a century, and these fossils have played an important role in the history of vertebrate paleontology, but we’re still making new discoveries about the dinosaur fauna as the sea erodes new fossils out of the cliffs.”
Clues from Ancient Rock Formations
The Cretaceous strata on the Isle of Wight are hundreds of meters thick and may span several million years – scientific consensus is still not entirely clear how old they are – so the fossils may be sampling a whole series of evolving ecosystems, each with a different set of species.
The discovery was made as part of a collaboration led by the University of Bath, along with the University of Portsmouth, the Isle of Wight Dinosaur Museum in Sandown, and local fossil collectors.
“Working with the amateur community is really important,” said Longrich. “It’s good to have a diverse team; everyone brings something different to the table. These guys have spent their lives collecting and preparing these fossils, they know details about the rock, the geology, and the bone that nobody else does. Everyone sees different pieces of the puzzle.”
Co-author on the study Professor Dave Martill from the University of Portsmouth said: “It is utterly bizarre that so many new dinosaurs are being discovered on the Isle of Wight.
“Vectidromeus is the seventh new species of dinosaur to be discovered in the last four years. This is all down to the amateur collectors.”
#SCIENCE NEWS#SCIENCEDAILY#SCIENCEUPDATE#VOICEOVER#NAMMACUDDALOREFM#Scientists have discovered that ancient, previously locked-away carbon is leaking into the atmosphere from various natural reservoirs, a finding that has "potentially huge implications" for understanding and predicting climate change [1, 2]. This phenomenon involves carbon that has been stored in Earth's systems for millennia—such as in permafrost, glaciers, and deep ocean sediments—now being released due to warming global temperatures [1, 2]. Key aspects and implications of this discovery include:
Researchers emphasize the need for a more comprehensive understanding of these processes to develop accurate climate projections and effective mitigation strategies [2]. For more details on the research, you can explore reports from scientific sources like the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences or climate news outlets.

Cotton is one of the most common fabrics in our wardrobes. It is comfortable, hypoallergenic, breathable and durable.
But cotton represents so much more than just a commodity. This natural fabric is a life-changing product worldwide that sustains 24 million growers (almost half of them women) and benefits over 100 million families across 80 countries in 5 continents.
This means that, behind any cotton clothing, following back its trade chain, there is a personal story.
It is true that cotton is really important to developed economies, but for least-developed and developing countries, it is a safety-net.
Cotton is a major source of livelihoods and incomes for many rural smallholders and laborers, including women, providing employment and income to some of the poorest rural areas in the world.
On this UN World Cotton Day, the United Nations wants to raise visibility of the cotton sector and awareness of the critical role that it plays in economic development, international trade and poverty alleviation. The observance also aims to highlight the importance of sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all.
UN World Cotton Day will be celebrated at the FAO headquarters in Rome, Italy. This event will address the sector's challenges and opportunities, with discussions on how to improve productivity, explore strategies to add value throughout the chain, and highlight the role of trade in the sector's sustainability.
UN celebration – The fabric of our lives
7 October 2025, 09:30 A.M., Rome Time (GMT+2) World Cotton Day, an idea that started thanks to the “Cotton Four”
The initiative of World Cotton Day was born in 2019, when four cotton producers in sub-Saharan Africa– Benin, Burkina Faso, Chad and Mali, known as the Cotton Four -proposed the World Trade Organization a World Cotton Day celebration on October 7.
During 2 consecutive years, the date offered an opportunity to share knowledge and showcase cotton-related activities.
Now that the United Nations has officially recognized this World Cotton Day, this great opportunity creates awareness of the need of market access for cotton and cotton-related products from least developed countries, fosters sustainable trade policies and enables developing countries to benefit more from every step of the cotton value chain.
A rules-based, non-discriminatory, open, fair, inclusive, predictable and transparent international cotton trading system is key to provide a livelihood to hundreds of millions of vulnerable people around the globe.
Besides, greater investments are needed to expand the sector beyond raw cotton production and create new income opportunities, especially for farmers, by adding more value to cotton fibre and developing by-products from other parts of the cotton plant.
UN agencies have worked years towards this mission. For instance, the International Trade Centre (ITC) and the World Trade Organization (WTO) have helped C-4 to optimize production and improve local processing capacity, as well as to discuss the trade reforms needed to address high trade barriers and inequalities for cotton producers in developing countries. These efforts date back to 2003 through the Cotton Initiative.
Another UN agency, FAO, has long offered developing countries technical and policy support for boosting productivity and creating more opportunities in the cotton value chain. As an example, the +Cotton project, a cooperation initiative with Brazil (another leader in the industry) that helps Latin American producers to introduce innovative farming methods.
Let's keep working on offering the assistance to the cotton sector in developing countries to keep increasing productivity, investment and bring innovation and sustainable standards to increase the benefits of the cotton sector worldwide.
