Yes, we are a day late. 4th of July put us a little behind, but that doesn't mean there isn't a fabulous episode awaiting you. This week, Teresa talks about the Vietnamese Mother Teresa, a basketball-playing spelling bee machine, and a rock climber who won't let a little thing like being in his 90s stop him. And then Colleen is going to give us an amazing guide to finding inspiration (when your favorite podcast is a day late and you really need your inspiration fix!) 😜 It's a great episode, come have a listen!

We are back from a little rest and ready to inspire once again! Colleen is going to talk about her trip to Arlington, Virginia, and her visit to the historic Torpedo Factory. It is 100% not what you are thinking. It's so cool! She also talks about an Instagram and YouTube project that gives voices and comfort to differently-abled people, that started with a classroom project and now is huge. Teresa is going to tell an amazing story of strength and compassion, where a woman who seemed to be getting battered by life found the strength to help people that go largely unseen and unheard. It's a truly incredible story that you have to hear.

We are taking the week off with college students coming home and graduations to celebrate. Teresa has a quick story about an Oregon artist who is celebrating an early Black Oregon pioneer just to keep the inspiration flowing until we return next week!

Need an inspiration break? Here it is. Three great stories to inspire you and to remember the good in the world. Colleen shares a story about a grumpy cat that inspired her owner to help elderly pet owners and the author of the Mitford series, who against the odds became a New York Times Best Selling Author and created the charming people of Mitford. Teresa talks about Clara Hale, who took in babies nobody wanted, reunited families, and pioneered a new way to deal with drug-addicted mothers and their babies. Truly a heroic person and an inspiration. Great stories this week, we would love for you to join us.

You know Colleen loves a good cookbook. So, this episode Colleen covers one of the pioneers of the modern cookbook, and an amazing modern woman, Julia Child. You won't believe this woman's amazing life before she even set foot in the kitchen. Teresa has two stories of two incredible young people. One is a burn victim who is creating a movement to help other burn victims and prevent new ones. The other is a doll doctor who is selflessly "healing" dolls that go on to help children who need some extra love. This is a truly inspiring episode. Come and join us.

Despite the Tangential Inspiration crew having the plague this week, we have a great podcast for you. We may sound a little sick, but our spirits were soaring with these great tales of inspiration. Colleen has two very interesting stories about archeology of all things- the mysterious Nazca Lines and King Tut's tomb. Teresa does a story about Chris Nikic, a young man with Down's Syndrome who has completed two Iron Man triathlons and is doing amazing things. His goal, be 1% better each day. He does it, and so can you! Come have a listen and get inspired.

We were lucky enough to be able to interview Jon Slifka. You probably haven't heard of him, but you will, and for good reason. Jon is an amazing advocate for the disabled community in Connecticut and elsewhere. In a wheelchair himself, Jon has used his experience to help improve access and quality of life for other people with disabilities. And the part we love best about Jon is his amazing attitude. He has made his disability a strength and is using it to help others. An up-and-coming inspirational speaker, you are going to get to hear Jon before he becomes a household name. We are so thrilled to be able to share this interview with you and are so inspired by Jon Slifka. Enjoy!

In a world where there is so much just negative and trashy stuff, it's nice to find some kindness, decency, and wholesomeness. We found some and we are willing to share it with you. Starting off, Jerry Seinfeld's wife, Jessica Seinfeld, is not only a superstar in the kitchen, with a lot of great cookbooks, but she is also helping young families in need in New York City. Some of our younger listeners may not be familiar with Charlie Brown and Snoopy, but our older listeners no doubt have some found memories of Charles Schulz's group in Peanuts. For 50 years, Charles Schulz brought wholesome humor to newspapers and television. Everyone should learn more about as well as learn from, Charles Schulz. Finally, hear about a barber in Cincinnati who is giving his time to help special needs children look their best. Lots of great stuff. It's like a purifying cleanse of decency washing over you. Give it a try, you will feel better.

Theodore Roosevelt- President, Rough Rider, Soldier and . . . nature lover? Of all the US Presidents, Theodore Roosevelt may have the most macho image, but he was also thinking about preserving the beauty and resources of the United States for future generations. This guy is really very interesting. We also have a story about a cat, reunited across the globe, with the little girl who had to leave him behind when the Russians invaded Ukraine. The number of people who made the effort to ensure this reunion will amaze and inspire you. Finally, a simple story about a kid who loves to make Easter Baskets for the less fortunate and how he is turbo-charging this project to help bring a smile to as many kids' faces as he can. This episode has everything. Check it out!
