Here we go again with another random mass shooting, leaving ten dead and seven injured in Oregon. The media and politicians continue to pacify us tossing around the need for more mental health services. Oregon recently passed a bill requiring criminal background checks. Are we ready to talk about waiting periods,gun registrations, banning of assault rifles, state run gun sales and psychological testing ? In the meantime, should we all be armed? Is the NRA right? Let’s talk about it.

House Speaker John Boehner is calling it quits, with plans to relinquish his gavel by the end of October. President Obama spoke kindly of the Speaker, but not so much praise from a lot of fellow Republicans who applauded his exit. Boehner got in a jab of his own by comparing conservative hard liners in his party to biblical false prophets. Well, so much for Republican brotherly love. On the Democratic side, more new emails have been discovered and more contradicting statements from the Clinton camp. Will lack of trustworthiness continue to hurt her in the polls? Two Georgia parents were allegedly drugged and attacked by their 22 and 17 year old sons. The parents forgave their sons stating that their sons just had a “bad moment”.

Islamophobia is alive and well in America. Just ask Ben Carson who said that he would not support a Muslim for president and Ahmed Mohamed, the 14 year old freshman suburban Dallas High School student with a penchant for technology, electronics and engineering. Ahmed was suspended from school, detained and handcuffed after bringing a clock he built to school. Help me to understand, where is the crime? Speaking of America, 23 million viewers watched the second Republican presidential debate last week with the top 11 GOP hopefuls spewing BS for over 3 hours. Let’s see if we can cut through the BS this week.

Baltimore officials have agreed to a $6.4 million settlement with the family of Freddie Gray. While the wrongful death settlement will require final approval by a city board, it comes as criminal charges are pending against six police officers in Gray’s arrest and death. The mayor has said that the settlement does not “represent any judgment” on the guilt or innocence of the officers.

The summer of Trump is coming to an end and the question is how long will this Trump phenomenon last? Let’s talk about how Americans really feel about a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants? It looks like Hillary is dipping and Joe Biden is waiting in the wings. While the media is focusing on Trump So, 24 unarmed black men have been shot and killed by police this year - one every nine days, according to the Washington Post. What will it take to get the attention of major media and the presidential hopefuls?

The 2016 presidential race has started and it appears Black Lives are not that important to either political party. Less than 45 seconds was spent addressing Black Lives in the first Republican presidential debate. Black Lives Matter protesters disrupted Bernie Sanders at his rally and we wonder if Hillary got the message when she met with the activists. Are they all oblivious or just don’t care?

It’s an extremely sad day in America when a 3 year old is killed by an 11 year old that somehow got his hands on a handgun is now facing manslaughter and felony firearm charges.
