  • Chapter 42 Tao Te Ching – It is Great to be a Loser!

In the 42nd Chapter of the Tao Te Ching, Lao Tzu reminds us of one of the foundational teachings of the Tao; violence in any form begets violence – in relationships, business, life, etc. By the same token, love begets love – in relationships, business, life, etc. We discuss how to find that balance and how loss of attachments many times is the real path of gain.

  • Chapter 41 Tao Te Ching – We are one thought removed from Peace and Joy!

In the 41st Chapter of the Tao Te Ching, Lao Tzu reminds us of the paradoxical nature of truth. When we smirk at an answer, that is not self-serving, that answer probably needs to be reconsidered. A small shift can mean the difference between peace and joy or frustration and angst.

  • Chapter 40 Tao Te Ching – The Weaker We Get The Stronger We Become!

In the 40th Chapter of the Tao Te Ching, Lao Tzu shows us in very few words that yielding is always the way of the Tao; The Tao advances by not pressing forward. Good conversation about what yielding in life looks like. When we press and push we are always moving against the Tao (our Higher Power) and always ends up with poor results.

  • Chapter 38 Tao Te Ching Part 1– Be Good instead of Do Good!

This is part 1 of our discussion of the 38th Chapter of the Tao Te Ching. Lao Tzu gives us the levels of false spirituality again and how we are to "be good" instead of the false "do good" substitutes going downward from self-goodness, to fairness, to rituals, to laws. These are red flags that can show us when we are not walking in our higher Tao nature of love.

About Tao of Our understanding Alcohol Recovery Podcast

From the publisher's feed

In this podcast, we discuss mystical works of literature, primarily Taoist text, and how they relate to alcohol recovery. Taoist Philosophy can be an excellent tool for embracing the idea of a "Higher Power." Nature offers all of the examples necessary for a concept of a source of all life, much different but yet very similar in many ways to more traditional religious thinking.
