Previous wireless communication solutions at the end of fiber’s reach helped but never fully delivered what was needed – comparable fiber performance at a fraction of the cost and deployment time. Dirk Gates, president of Tarana Wireless, describes the Next-Generation wireless technology to Don Witt of The Channel Daily News, a TR publication.
Previous fixed wireless solutions relied on WiFi or 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) which were geared toward mobility and not high-speed broadband access. This limited scalability and performance.

The Next Generation fixed wireless was designed to provide the fiber-like speeds over fixed wireless at distance. This provides resellers and business another option to the broadband, expensive fiber and the underperforming traditional fixed wireless.
Listen in as Dirk reviews the the Next Generation Fixed Wireless features that he and the rest of Tarana are so excited about – real game changer technology.
G1x2 mode
On September 27, Tarana announced its release of G1x2 mode, a software update that doubles the current 80MHz bandwidth of the G1 platform to 160MHz, organized as four independent 40MHz carriers — in either 5 or 6 GHz or both — to deliver up to 1.6 Gbps in aggregate for each G1 link. Additionally, Tarana also announced that G1 in 6 GHz will soon be available in the US, Canada, and other countries around the world.
They’ve built their platform company on a foundation of passion for deep innovation and tight focus on getting great things done. their results speak for themselves: they’ve grown from 0 to over 180 customers in their first year of G1 sales, with hundreds more in the pipeline, including companies across the full spectrum of the industry — fiber builders, WISPs, and incumbent broadband providers — connecting businesses and consumers alike. They’ll collaborate with anyone working to make the digital divide a thing of the past. That’s their enduring mission — that’s Tarana!
