In episode 74 of Tatami Talk with Juan and Anthony. We talk about the  UFC 285 fight between Tabatha Ricci and Jessica Penne. With Tabatha  Ricci using her underrated Judo skills to get the win over the BJJ black  belt Jessica Penne. We then go into talking about the One Championship  grappling match at One Fight Night 7. Between Danielle Kelly a BJJ black  belt and Ayaka "Zombie" Miura a Judo black belt. We give our opinions  on the match. As well as the One Championship grappling rules. What we  thought of it and who we thought won the match. We finished up talking  about certain misconceptions about Judo. Misconceptions about weakness  and exaggeration  in some judo techniques. Like back taking and holding  on to the person while you're being thrown. As well as the difference  between getting thrown on a soft mat, compared to concrete, asphalt and  dirt. The myth that a kesa gatame aka scarf hold or head and arm  position, is no good and gives up your back.

In episode 73 of Tatami Talk with Juan and Anthony. We start off first  talking about the biting incident that happened at the Paris Grand Slam.  In the first round of the -52 kg category. A Kazakhstani judo player  bit a Belgium judo player on the calf well trying to escape an armbar.  We then go into the -57kg finals in Tel Aviv. With an all Canadian  final. Where Klimkait finally beat Deguchi with a throw. But with it not  being without some controversy in the end. We finish up talking about  the Clarisse Agbegnenou comeback troubles. Some of you may or may not  know but she signed a sponsorship deal with Mizuno, but the French  national team is sponsored by Adidas. At this tournament she decided to  wear her Mizuno sponsored Gi. In doing this the French team decided to  punish her by taking away all her government sponsored funding. As well  as not allowing any French team coach to coach her at the tournament

With  Portugal holding the first tournament of the year. And the Paris Grand  Slam happened this past weekend. We then go to an interesting court case  of ONE Championship getting sued by The Boxing Association of Thailand.  For putting on matches using the Muay Thai name but not following  Thailand's Muay Thai rules and regulations. Very similar to when Kano  stopped other martial arts from using the name of Judo. In other  grappling styles. We finish up with talking about grappling's little  dirty secret. How to stop, prevent and treat skin infections. What you  should do to try to prevent getting rashes, ringworm, staph and other  infections like infantigo.

In episode 71 of Tatami Talk with Juan and Anthony. We give a big  congratulations to our head instructor at Hollywood Judo Dojo. Sensei  Philippe Morotti on receiving his 6th Dan (red and white belt) from the  USJA. We also talk about Street Fighter putting in their first true Judo  character in the upcoming Street fighter 6. And give our takes on Judo  characters in fighting games. After that we answer a viewer's question  about kosen Judo and kosen Judo tournaments. Our main topic is something  different and fun. Anthony and Juan discuss the pros and cons of some  unpopular Judo topics in a debate format. The pros and cons of leg  grabbing, federations, kosen Judo and so on and so forth. Something  different we hope everyone enjoys.

In episode 69 of Tatami Talk with Juan and Anthony. For the last episode  for the year of 2022 we are doing a Judo trivia Episode featuring  special guests Dave Roman from the Judo Chop Suey Podcast and a novice  member from Hollywood Judo Scotty Ryerson. We also talk about our  individual thoughts on the past year and our plans and goals for next  year.

In episode 68 of Tatami Talk with Juan and Anthony. We open up  congratulating two of our past guests Rossy Rascal and Liana Mutia. On  the most recent achievements. Rossy won the PCW UK Cruiserweight  Championship and Liana on winning the IBSA Pan American Championships.  As well as her taking Bronze at the IBSA Judo Worlds. We then give our  thoughts on the Tokyo Grand Slam. With the dominance of the Japanese  Judo team at the tournament. As it is the holiday season and people are  traveling to see friends and family. We always encourage people to try  out new Dojos on their travels. So we talk about Anthony's latest trip  and his visit to a local dojo on it. We then go into talking about  Juan's experience using smooth comp for the first time. As a competitor  and as a coach at the USJF/USJA Nanka Winter Internationals. Anthony and  Juan give their opinions on the smooth comp software if it helped  things run smoothly or just made things more rough at the tournament.  With the year wrapping up. We give our thoughts on our outstanding judo  player of the year 2022.
